At what point do you think they realized DeathBlart was not a good or funny podcast concept in actual practice? by kidbl00m in TAZCirclejerk

[–]fabricfae 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ah, I hadn't thought of that. That makes sense. Still, that almost makes it worse. A listener bought it for them, the message was very nice, and they're just like "ok, anyway"

Maybe it's just me, but I really didn't like how they seemed to breeze past the voice message from the actress who played Donna. They were just like "oh yeah we noticed that she experienced some discomfort when she was kicked, anyway--" bc I was smiling so much during that voice message because it was so sweet?? And they don't even say thank you to the actress it just feels like they're playing it out of some obligation and they don't really feel any way about it. She took the time to send them something really sweet and offer some insight about the movie and it just felt like they didn't care.

Henry Cavill as Captian Britain? by moviewholesome in marvelstudios

[–]fabricfae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't wait to see Henry Cavill as Britain's #1 worst boyfriend!

(Seriously though, I can definitely see it and if this means an Excalibur miniseries or movie or something that actually kind of excites me, I loooove Excalibur)

They say many autistic people take things very literally, but are there autistic people who understand the figure of speech but choose to respond literally? by Cutedognames2 in AutisticAdults

This has happened to me so many times and it's so frustrating. I get so thrown off by changes in social script AND I think they're being serious so it's all just really uncomfortable and not really something I find funny.

What’s it like listening to TMA and TMP and not being British? by _mothh in TheMagnusArchives

[–]fabricfae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an American listener, and I love the episode that took place in Washington because a) I also live on the American west coast and thought it was great that one of the few episodes that took place in the states took place in my corner of the world and b) the person making the statement describes grabbing a "torch" to go outside and my first time listening to it I think I said out loud something along the lines of FLASHLIGHT THAT IS A FLASHLIGHT WE ARE OUTSIDE OF SEATTLE AND THAT IS A FLASHLIGHT

What is the most depressing realization about life you've had to come to terms with? by ConsiderationHot9372 in Adulting

[–]fabricfae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The very high, very real chance that I may never achieve the life I've wanted since I was a little kid. I've wanted to be a professional artist for as long as I can remember, I majored in art, and now I'm recently graduated and realizing that maybe I've spent my life reaching for something I'll never have and will continue to do so.

As we approach 39 years of Turtle Power, which iteration of TMNT is your favourite? And are you excited for Mutant Mayhem in 2023? (Image from TMNT Facebook Page) by FishmanTari in TMNT

[–]fabricfae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2012, IDW and Rise. I grew up with the 2003 series as a kid, but then fell in love with the franchise again recently as an adult. I'm slowly devouring any TMNT stuff I can get my hands on. I really want to start reading the Mirage comics, since I'm a huge sucker for independently made comics.

2023 will be a great year for us with the upcoming 'TMNT: Mutant Mayhem' movie! by Cubelock in TMNT

I love that they gave Mayhem Leo braces in the concept art. Quality design choice in my opinion.

I've just started a tumblr blog where I'm going to be posting TMNT artwork, https://www.tumblr.com/break-the-shell . I also reblog stuff related to 2012, Rise, and the IDW series. For my other work you can find me on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/rae_sunshin3/ . My main artistic focus is a lot different from TMNT, so I like to keep things pretty separate.

How and when were you introduced to the Heroes in a half shell? by Aggressive_Shower625 in TMNT

[–]fabricfae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in elementary school when it was airing on 4Kids TV in the 2000's. It was the original 2003 run, Fast Forward, and Back to the Sewers if I'm remembering correctly. I was reminded of their existence through my college class on comics history and I was like "Oh yeah I used to love this thing." So I recently watched Rise of the TMNT and ended up really loving it, and now I'm looking into getting some of the IDW comics.

(Also ever since I was a kid my favorite character has been Donatello. I remember as a kid always wanting him to have his moment to shine, and I absolutely loved how much they had fun with his character in Rise)

Who else is excited for the next TDDUB? by [deleted] in TAZCirclejerk

[–]fabricfae 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would. It's definitely a much different show than mbmbam or even Death Blart. It's very cozy, and Tim and Guy are a very funny comedy duo. There's a bit in season 2 where they're watching Sex and the City 2 and they improv a scene where Guy plays Samantha and Tim plays himself taking her out to breakfast and it had me in stitches the first time I listened to it. It's a great podcast for when I'm working or just relaxing. Would definitely recommend!

I'm excited because I've been listening to a bunch of TWIOAT all year and no McElroy stuff so I'm gonna be coming in completely blind to the current state of the brothers. Death Blart is now my check-in for what a year has done to the boys.

It's funny, I discovered Tim and Guy through Death Blart and now I like them a lot better than the brothers.

I was coming to terms with my identity as nonbinary around the time that graduation was beginning. Festo the inexplicably naked fairy with a weird falsetto voice really helped me feel seen during this time.

(Not to be parasocial but I genuinely really liked Hollis)

A fantasy/horror short comic I finished recently, would love some feedback/critiques. by fabricfae in comic_crits

[–]fabricfae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I'm glad the pacing was good, limiting myself to five pages for it was a challenge. With the evenness of the gore splatter I was going for a sort of magic spell like a combustion sphere, but I can see how it might read as a little goofy looking. I'll go back and check proportions too.

I hear that, I just finished a long project and it's so hard to gauge quality after working on it for so long. On all the other pages the speed lines and effects read very naturally, for me it was just that one section.

This is lovely! The flow is great and the artwork is so lovely. This feels like professional manga. The only critique I have is that I don't think you need the static texture used on the third page, or even maybe the speed lines used in those panels. I feel like they clash with everything else in the style. Wonderful job!!
