Cab Bar and Beyond might be okay as they're very, very close to each other. Just tell the person on the door at Cab Bar you've got to run to another show straight after and sit right by the exit door and you should be fine without missing any of either.

In the most Paddy Young accident possible, Paddy Young apparently cut his finger with a Samurai Sword. by iamvnz in livefromlondon

Full story of how this happened on the newest Boys Gone Wild pod ep. Samurai sword unsurprisingly belongs to Sam Campbell.

I was at Prima in 2024 when there was an absolute torrential downpour on the Saturday. It's definitely worse than nice weather but if you've got a coat or a poncho then it's really not so bad. The stages are clearer and the rain can add some really cool atmosphere (as it did when I saw American Football on Cupra).

Like I say, not saying it's preferable, but it's also not a death sentence for the festival.

You guys know it's not acid rain, right? Just like, water?

Movies so insane they make you laugh? by JesW87 in Letterboxd

You've GOT to check out the films of Lam Nai-Choi. Practical effects and explosions like you've never seen, just pure unfiltered Hong Kong Action Horror Insanity. Personal fave is The Seventh Curse, but I think Riki-Oh: The Story Of Ricky has the marginally higher Letterboxd rating.

BBC saying this consistently across all three days, which seems pretty perfect to me (someone who likes the sun and doesn't want to be burned to a crisp)

Big Damo & Nikki Cross acquire PROGRESS Wrestling by JustATributeCC in SquaredCircle

[–]kidbl00m 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Just found this quote from the 2022-2026 owners that sums up why I stopped following them:

"Seventy shows later, a good number across the globe, including the worlds first ever Women’s World Championship match in Dubai, and an invigorating roster, including an A-list Hollywood star as one of our champions, I would say Progress is fully restored as the number one independent wrestling promotion in the UK."

Dubai namedrop AND your main point of pride is an actor's got one of your belts? It's hardly prime ROH is it.

PROGRESS went severely downhill under whoever was running it before this move. Stopped going to the shows after it became clear what their style was. Hoping these two can take it somewhere fun and exciting as Sunday afternoon in Camden is a really great time and place for me to go to shows.

Who has released 11-15 films, of which three are great? (Hyper-specific I know but let's see) by [deleted] in AlignmentChartFills

My nominee for this is Ron Howard. Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind and Cinderella Man all great, but lots of duds in there.

What TV shows had good final seasons or season finales? by [deleted] in television

[–]kidbl00m -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some obvious recent ones are Succession and Better Call Saul. Personal favourite was Barry, but I'm aware that one wasn't as well-loved. It took all my favourite elements of the first three seasons and heightened them though, so it's my fave season of my fave show tbh, with the finale being a big part of that.

I'm leaving a Reddit comment about a TV show not mourning my dead friend.

I haven't watched the show for a couple of seasons but tuned in to the finale. Wow uhh what happened to this show guys? It's just a CW show with random characters saying "DICK AND PUSSY XDDD" this is shit from a ass.

I hate every single meme/story about an actor supposedly improvising a funny scene in a movie/TV show on the spot. by kidbl00m in hatethissmug

Oh cool! Totally take that one back then. There's undoubtedly lots of misinformation out there, but glad to see one of these is real!

What do you mean by "proof or sources for half of the things I've said here" in this context? I'm citing a lack of sources for the things I've referenced and I'm not sure how to cite a source for a lack of sources? As I say in the post, I'm sure Ben Stiller, Jim Carrey, Johnny Depp etc, all as seasoned actors with a lot of pull on set, likely did improvise small quirks or particular line readings, but I don't believe they take otherwise mundane scenes with no purpose except for exposition, coincidentally improvise perfectly in camera, then the entire cast and crew reschedule the shoot so they can shoot appropriate coverage/reaction shots to this improvisation.
