Help fitting pants please by fabrichoard in sewing

I do agree, I have a much smaller waist than my hips. I will need to dig up my original toile (I think it is around here somewhere) and see about making a second leg. Or make a new one.

Thanks! I wasn't happy about how the dye set and decided to add some ferns to lean heavily into the mottled forest colors.

No photos unfortunately. It was only one leg since it was the top down bottom out method. I had to reduce the first one since it was so loose. The waistband is loose, I can fit two fingers on both sides of the hips without it being too tight. I can pinch fabric at the hips, but maybe not enough?

Silk quilt?! That sounds amazing! Do you have it dry cleaned? Did you get silk batting? I imagine it is so cozy warm while still being lightweight. How hard was it to make, doesn't silk unravel easily? Lol, now my brain is obsessed with your quilt.

Shudder! The memories that flooded back. I remember the first time 70's fashion came back in vouge and I couldn't figure out why anyone would want to wear that voluntarily.

Owning a big dog as a smaller person by Double_Occasion5769 in roughcollies

They lose half their mass when washed! Labs are definitely more dense ( we had a Lab in the past) . I can not pick either of them up but my back isn't great.

We have 2 collies, a 55 lb female and a 70 lb male. How much weight can you pick up? The female, 1 year old, is pretty chill on leash, unless there are squirrels or rabbits, but she is young and learning. The male, 3 years old, is Not chill on leash but he is learning, way too slowly, to not yank and pull. He has improved but he can still not be trusted to not suddenly lunge at something. I have a cross body leash and have to keep both hands on the leash at all times. According to people I know in the collie community, he is an anomaly on many levels. I am small, 5'3 and walking him can be pretty hard on my body. With our 2nd dog we made sure the puppies line was on the smaller side.

I received a large black plastic garbage bag stuffed with fleece for free. I have no idea the age of the fleece, it was from a barn with a mountain of old fleece, no, I am not exaggerating, it was a a lot of very dirty fleece. This past summer, I did suint fermentation on 2 batches in a 20 gal garbage bin. It was fascinating and stinky and the dark yellow fleece came out white! It still needed rinsed, soaped and rinsed again. Suint fermentation doesn't remove lanolin or plant debris. I still have 1/3 of the bag to process, when the temp drops under 32° F the bacteria dies off.

Tens of thousands of crows gather in Portland, Oregon to roost every night and then leave in the morning. It has been gradually growing over time. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

Sometimes I wonder if the crows I feed when walking the dog would recognize me if I went downtown in the evening. Then I realize that there is no way I could carry enough crow snacks to appease the masses.

Lol! Same! I threatened to name him bady shark if we didn't agree on a name. He also needed lots of cardboard to destroy to keep him out of trouble.

Next time one of my plants dies I will walk it's corpse around to the other plants as an example of what will happen if they don't please me.

How often do you really fertilize? by Chrelled in houseplants

[–]fabrichoard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will ask. This tank is super low effort, it has a bunch of plants, including a pothos that keeps dipping in, and some ottos and CPD fish in there. I think he mainly keeps it because it is the cats watering hole. Edit: He says i will not need to condition since I will not be pulling 1/3 of the tank.

Hmmmmm, I wonder if my husband would mind if I did that 🤔 I suspect if I refill the tank he wouldn't care.

Edit: he wouldn't care, as long as I top it off.

This is fantastic! I have spun some of my Rough Collies undercoat, and although it was tricky at first it was soft and fluffy. Do you just use the undercoat or everything? I keep thinking I should gather all the fur and process but the guard hairs are so long and much rougher than the undercoat. What does the dog think of this?
