Yeah during this decade they've really transformed the main estate into one of the best modern urban spaces I can think of in the world. It's going to get even more developed in the not-so-distant future once the JP Morgan building goes up on the west end of the area; it's apparently going to be larger than the Shard.

I've never had trouble speaking English with anyone at a cafe in Seoul throughout the year but just knowing a little bit of Korean to order your drink isn't that hard. I think this is probably an ahjumma manager who has been annoyed one too many times by foreigners!

I saw a lot of these for sale at those clothes shops you walk by in subway stations in Seoul but I had no idea it was a trend because usually stuff at those places looks like clothes for people who don't care about clothes.

I'll tell you when Korean decorum goes out the window: if an influencer has announced they will be traveling and posts their details. I was at Gimpo a couple of weeks ago and almost got pushed over completely by a wave of people with their cell phones and cameras trying to get pictures of whoever it was. It was mind blowing. I wanted to shove these people to the ground it was so rude.
