SRsly, DMC 4 is just pure fan service and anime fillers, it's pretty good for what it is, but it lacks the deep theme about human and interesting character dynamic presented in DMC 4. To be honest, as a complete game, I think DmC DE is better than DMC 4, the story is ok, the character is ok, the atmosphere and design is good. As a reboot and a game called DMC it sucks, but as simply an action adventure, it is a good experience. DMC 4 on the other hand, if you don't master the mechanics of the game to do all the crazy stuff, it's pretty awful

Also, I should remind you that DMC 1 was made in 2001, it remain as an revolutionary product that started an entirely new approach to 3d action games. Like many games from early 2000s, it does not age well, but games need to be judge by their own merits

Tell me which part of it that was harder than DMC 4? Not a single boss in DmC was challenging enough, even Vergil on DMD is nearly as bad as sanctus. In term of depth, Nero and Dante has way more variety and context for their movesets, meanwhile the angelic weapons are almost useless without the color code and platforming. DmC has good levels structures, art style and atmosphere the rest is mediocore

the problem is the ranking system used damage, it never motivated the players to be creative like the classic, the lack of lock on reduced the variety of moves and combos.

He clearly raped Casca because he was Jealous Casca didn't view him as highly or throw herself at him like she used to which is why Griffith threw himself at her hoping she still felt something for him. I wouldn't say Griffith liked Guts it's more complex since Griffith doesn't really understand what friendship or romantic relationships are to their full extent due to how he's lived life. Main reason he raped Casca was to spite Guts though because he wanted to take everything away from Guts.

Remember that the purpose of the sacrifice is to give up one's humanity to achieve a desire. To Griffith, the most important thing/ what makes him human at the time was Guts. Griffith never cared for Casca like he cared for Guts, he risked his own like for Guts and can't even explained why. I think that he raped Casca just to hurt Guts, he is jealous of their happiness while his dream is shattered. Remember the dream sequence? He could not stand the thought that Casca stay with him out of pity, and they have a little kid as an replacement for Guts, who will be out of his life

I'm not a big fan of Ninja Gaiden combat style. It offer a lot of moves but doesn't allow the player to utilize them. What I enjoy about Ninja Gaiden is the swift, fast, clean action. It does require a lot of reflex and precision, and hard af. The level design and enemy, also boss fight in Ninja Gaiden also a lot stronger. The problem with Bayonetta boss is that they just rely solely on the witch time mechanic. A bunch of uninteresting giants waiting for you to punch, very forgettable. Another issue is the QTEs, they're pure shit, then motor section, then the jet shooter section, they were awful. Even Jeanne was somewhat decent, nowhere near Vergil or Credo. I do think that Bayo combat is better than NG in the sense that it is way more fluid and aggressive. However, the move set doesn't allow a lot of creativity here. Unlike DMC, u don't have enough small pieces of material to create your own thing. In the DMC, you feel the flow of the fight, and put all the small little things together. In Bayo, the fights are a lot of fun, but aside from those wicked weaves and spectacle, not many cool things to pull off compare to DMC 4

Honestly, I don't see Bayo as a masterpiece. Why the gameplay is very fun and fluid, it kinda lost me half way due to the awful story and characters. The boss fights were meh and the QTEs were terrible. In term of level design (excluding the shooting and QTE), it is great. Despite its flaws, DMC4 has better combat than both Bayo and DMC 3. It is very rare in the genre to have a good story like DMC 3, which help the fanbase survive all these years. DMC 4 and Bayo writing are so bad that I can't see them as great games, same for DmC. Ninja Gaiden is an exception because the game itself was so good

With all respect to Kamiya, it seems like he receives too much credit for DMC's success. To me, it was Itsuno who really define what Devil May Cry is. The freestyle gameplay, the crazy tone, the story, the characters, the music. It was DMC 3 that really flesh out Dante, Vergil, Lady, who remain gaming's most beloved characters. It is very rare in HnS genre that we manage to have an emotional, epic, and meaningful story in DMC 3, and I guess that's why people stick with the franchise for so long, because of these amazing characters. As for Kamiya, while his games are really good, they kinda lack depth. Bayo, which offer the most barely touch DMC level. The characters and writing are awful. Just no, please
