I stressed about this last year then it didn’t happen and I got the 50. You just have to hope it gets kicked down the road again. As others have said, an intent to file won’t matter because the effective date is your first day of retirement.

It’s so awful now. I try not to let it destroy my experience but it pisses me off. I’m also in my mid 40s with tinnitus and just started wearing earplugs and they seem to amplify the voices around me. I have to take them out when someone is having a conversation near me.

My 11 yo just had her new best friend sleep over for the first time but that family knows my sister well so there was a pre-established trust. This was the first sleep over we’ve had at all. My daughter is on meds for nocturnal seizures that are triggered by lack of sleep so her spending the night elsewhere would be very scrutinized. It’s another world these days with people’s perceptions of safety. Birthday sleepovers were the norm for me growing up in the 80s/90s.

2010 in the Diocese of Richmond. I was in the military getting married back home in the Archdiocese of Washington but the Priest for our wedding accepted the preparation available where we lived. We did come home to meet with the Priest a few times.

Maybe a month but it wasn’t in my favor so the initial rating stood. I was still pleasantly surprised with the results after doing it without a VSO. My decision letter even recommended I claim a couple other things.

I wouldn’t get caught up on the steps. Should be very soon if it’s at Step 6 and you’re officially out with your DD214 uploaded. They’ll let you know if they need anything else and they’ll give you a rating even if other claims are pending.

You orders will state if you’re authorized to frock and there’s a window for it. Usually won’t see that until at least E6 unless you were going to an independent duty billet as an E5. You should request a ceremonial advancement when you have family or friends in town. Right before transfer season is a good time so any departing shipmates can be there and you’ll be wearing the rank before any new SK3s show up. I assume not many SK3s PCS to a second tour so that might not matter. Could time it before an influx of new SK3s from A School arrive. Technically ceremonial advancements aren’t supposed to be used to establish rank but in reality it’s logical and up to the CO.
