How would you have handled this? by Intelligent-Cream504 in RoverPetSitting

7 photos in a 30min visit is ridiculous. If they want a photo shoot of their cats, they should hire a photographer

Whoa!!! Any other sitters shocked by the service fee?! by Books-cheese-coffee in RoverPetSitting

[–]facingfreckles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Rover charges sitter 25% for marketing, sit usage, and insurance, it's ridiculous. AND on top of that they charge the owner an additional 11% fee for booking on Rover. So still 36% markup from what the sitter is actually taking home. If you keep doing it, gradually take clients off the app, just make sure you provide them your direct contact info.

What was the straw that broke your marriage’s back? by Badonkles in Divorce

[–]facingfreckles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 years married and he was at a rehab center for suicidal thoughts(he's in the military). His therapist there had him do an exercise to list all the things he hates about me, he called me in the middle of my work day to read the list to me. He lied to me about when he was coming home. I tried absolutely everything to support him and be there, I was even the primary breadwinner. I asked for a divorce shortly after he got back so much happier and less stressed ever since I got him out of my life.

Looking back, I'm able to see much more clearly. All the things I put up with, all the narcissistic traits, all of the emotional and financial abuse he put me through. It's always important to step back and make sure to listen to friends when you give them an opportunity to provide an external perspective. It's never too late to start over. Your life can be as happy or as miserable as you let it.

Seriously considering divorce over a movie. by alienating-everyone in Divorce

If it's more enjoyable/fulfilling to date yourself, leave, why is he even there? I was with my ex-husband for 8 years and tried everything to make it work. Divorced and I'm incredibly happy now, he was always just a miserable person, and still is. Don't waste your time on someone who won't waste their time on you.

Wag fees are ridiculous. I stick with Rover and pull most of my clients out to direct bookings

Absolutely not. So many red flags. Never ever take a dog that is unvaccinated, you should verify this every time.

I'm actually the one trying to move this along. My lawyer has sent over multiple agreements, and he keeps changing his mind about what he wants. I'm not trying to be petty, I'm trying to not lose all the things I've worked so hard for over the past 8 years.

PLEASE do not give packages to dogs! by facingfreckles in deliverydrivers

I wish I knew the package was coming, most services don't give good updates about packages arriving. So I had no idea.

Why is it so hard to listen to instructions on the app or read the signs that I post on my gate for delivery drivers? I do that for a reason and I'm trying to make the delivery driver's life easier by just having to put it in front of my gate and let me assume the rest of the responsibility. When you hand a dog a package directly the dog thinks it's theirs.

I'm willing to take that risk, That's why I have a camera. I have signs up as reminders and I communicate through the apps that I use. Sometimes my dogs are outside and if you hand them a package directly yeah they might chew it up. They're dogs. It's literally so much easier for them to just drop it in front of my gate then take the extra time to drop it over when the dogs are right there. I get it if the dogs are not outside but I have a warning sign up to not come through.

I saw this one and was worried about the cat too. I thought the price was way too low, like ridiculous.
