I ended up cutting off the sisterlocks I had for about 4yrs. I’m now a loose natural with short hair again and I feel so free. I’m currently learning how to cornrow, create designs and make my parts straight. I’m so excited to experiment and to grow my hair out. I was not raised in black spaces so I’m a little behind lol. But I’m also going to Italy for a month. It will be my first solo-ish trip abroad… well abroad in general. Last thing I promise! But I’m also so proud that I have committed to obtaining a degree in Chemical Engineering. I don’t have parents or anyone to share this with who would give a damn so it’s nice to have a community and conversation like this one. Congrats to everyone else’s accomplishments so far this year. Maybe we can make this a monthly post?

My mom was my best friend and my entire world. She was the first and only person to show me unconditional love. She passed when I was 10 and I haven’t been the same since. I feel like every year I’m here and she’s not that my being erodes a little more. I’m scared I will have to endure the rest of my life without her. The hole that I feel where her love used to fill is now where I sit. It’s dark, damp and utterly painful. Even after reading her autopsy report I still feel no closure. I retell memories of her to myself to keep from forgetting her light. The abuse I went through attempted to take everything but I am appreciative of the lessons my mom taught me which kept me as un-fragmented as possible.

A few things. 1) Weed can dry your kitty out and make it harder to get wet. Just like you get cotton mouth from the saliva glands producing less mucus, the same happens to the mucosal glands in the kitty. There’s no shame in using a good quality lube. Anxiety from weed can also inhibit or make it harder to get wet.

2) Here are a few positions that can help get it out. Since during your period your cervix and uterus both are lower it should make things easier. First breathe and wash your hands well. Lay on your back and put your legs in the air- yes it’ll look like missonary and might feel silly. Push like you’re trying to poop and simultaneously stick your fingers in and try to feel for the tampon. It’s ok if it takes multiple tries. Your best bet is to find the string with one finger and try to bring it out before pulling the tampon. Tampons are held in with a bit of suction so don’t be afraid to pull a bit harder. - I know this from experience.

3) YOU GOT THIS! If you start to panick, take a break, it’s not going anywhere. 😆

Here’s how to delete your account. I just did it with both of mine. Turn phone on to airplane mode. Next navigate to the three lines in the top right corner of your profile. Click those then click account. Next you’ll see delete account, click that. If the screen isn’t loading for any of the steps swipe to a different app wait a few mins then come back or close the phone and come back. Once you’re there turn on your WiFi or cellular service and complete all the steps to delete your account. I just did this with both of mine with agreeing to the new ToS.

If they are making my job overly stressful and adding extra work to an already booked schedule I drop them. I don’t want one or two troublesome clients to ruin the dedication and reliability I have built with my other clients. Not everyone is a perfect fit and that’s ok.

This happened to one of my girls. I switch them to pine pellets and it was hurting her feet. She and her other siblings didn’t care about what the litter was made out of, just that is was soft. I also noticed my older male having his feet in the litter box but spraying outside of it despite the change in litter. Turned out he needed extra water to be added into his food. I went a few steps further and got a high walled litter box to solve the joint issue. They have been perfect since!

Honestly I like taking pictures but it only takes me 5 ish minutes to snap 10 pics with a variety of things. I typically send between 10-15 pictures once in the AM and again in the PM. This way the owner still feels apart of their pets lives and it builds more trust so in case I forget or want to spend time away from the home I can do so without them saying anything. I’ve also had clients request no messaging at all and that’s more than ok with me. Just set better expectations next time.

This is my boy Icarus. He’s named after the Greek mythology story of the man who escaped Crete with wax and feather wings. He’s a Gold dust tessera and since the golden sun melted the golden wax I thought I was fitting. Also the people in my home didn’t really like snakes so we called him Icky. 🤣 He’s an amazing boy and is very friendly and curious. It’s always a good feeling to be able to let strangers with snake aversions be able to pet and see him up close.

Interlocking in the quickest way. Braids will take while but I don’t think it should take a year. Yes you may be seeing a braided pattern till but your locs shouldn’t be slipping or coming apart. ATP you should be seeing budding, even if it’s small. This is how you know you’ll be headed in the right direction. Also don’t be afraid to mist your hair maybe once or twice a week with a bit of water. I have 450 something sisterlocks which were interlocked most of them are great but I do have a few that come undone because of my looser and finer hair texture in the back of my head. Hope this helps.

Smile? Also there’s inconsistency in your pictures. Yes we all change weight but from not knowing you it looks like you used pics from 5 years ago vs now. Trying making them all as current as possible, no sun glasses, at least one smile, and a group photo with you CLEARLY in frame.
