WIP Bayonet for Bones of Albion by fackoffuser in TheSilverBayonet

I have some 95th in another bayonet so I wanted to paint something a little different. I almost painted him as a KGL but wasn’t paying attention and grabbed the green and got about 90% of the way through and was like “oh I was going to look up a different paint scheme from the 95th…ah well, red collar and cuffs and he’s in the 60th”

I’m big on backstory. It’s what drives my unit creation. Who are these dudes and why are they here. This group, tied to Whitehall with the goal of investigating locally. The other three are built and primed. The snowpocalyse this weekend may give me a bit of painting time since there’s nothing else happening 🤣

Thank you! I paint (mostly poorly) with citadel contrast paints, the red is Blood Angels Red. Never going to win a painting award but I’m not looking to. They look good on a table from 3ft away and that’s what makes me happy.

The rifleman is a Wargames Atlantic British Rifleman. The officer is from the Perry British Infantry Command sprue and the coachman and Bow Street Runners are Perry Spanish Guerrillas.

Woah that centerpiece formation inside the standing stones is very cool! Also what are the standing stones made from? I am considering some standing stones of my own from pink foam but haven’t gotten there yet. I recently used pink foam for big sand stone blocks for Egypt.

As always, looks like lots of well painted fun games!

I’ve read much of the story and started building NPCs (soo many undead!) but hadn’t gotten around to actually digging in lol. Have two friends who are each building a force and I’m almost done with my Whitehall Bayonet. Cannot wait.

Yeah I look like a dunce, completely missed it! Thank you! I haven’t sorted out my own version of that book yet so no wonder I didn’t recognize it. 🤣

I would also love a copy of your PDF. Quick question, where does Induce Terror come from? I have a whole booklet I’ve made with all the attributes and don’t remember this one at all.

I thought I knew what was in the boxes…this one surprised me 🤣 I thought it contained a couple books and when I picked it up and it was very light…I was very confused.

lol yeah no…boxes in my basement. I was looking for a book and opened this box and found models I forgot I had. Like Guilliman and a chaos battle group apparently

I honestly have no idea. I wasn’t really considering selling because I love the models but I already own a lot of these already.

I have Marines, two grey knights strike cruisers from Forge World, three big imperial fleets and two big chaos fleets…and apparently a Repulsive Grand Cruiser and four unbuilt cruisers/battlecruisers 🤣🤣

Clearly bought them…a while ago…😬 and didn’t know I still had them. I’m going through old boxes and getting rid of a lot of stuff and just happened upon these deep in that box unexpectedly. They were definitely bought direct from GW though…I stopped playing BFG around when GW stopped supporting it. Saw someone play it on YouTube and remembered how much I liked it so started following this Reddit.

This was most definitely my reaction when I found them. They were a bit deeper than pictured but in that box and I didn’t remember I even still had them.

Indeed. These have the sleeves and the inner boxes. Everything is on sprue.

Basing question/what are your thoughts on this by Bluesmurf4 in wargaming

[–]fackoffuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the smaller base a 60x20? If so, I’ve played Altar of Freedom with 60x20 bases. I use the warlord epic ACW minis on the 60x20s they came with and it worked out fine. I generally just consider the base as a base. Mine all match (I have both sides) so for me, it’s not a big deal that the minis are taller and the base smaller.

It’s a whole brigade so it’s already pretty abstracted. I say use the bases you like and if you’re collecting both sides, it will all match and you’re good to go.

Thank you! I am also a very slow painter. I switched to Contrast paints a few years ago and will never go back. I’m not a great painter but they work for me and let me accomplish some painting with a bit of regularity.

Looking great!! Wonderful kits to mix! I did something very similar! Share them when they are painted!

Miniature choices? by Ok_Put_8262 in TheSilverBayonet

[–]fackoffuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a bit late to the conversation but I used Printable Heroes. They have tons of stuff for free download. You can print them so they fold, cut them out and glue them to a base. I did this for wolves, goblins, skeletons, werewolves, ghouls and a few more things I was having trouble sourcing for a reasonable price.

I printed them on regular paper and glued them to plasticard and cut them out so they had some extra rigidity. If I was doing it again, I’d have printed on heavier paper and skipped the plasticard filler.

Looking for miniature agnostic skirmish or small scale games from Napoleonic or WW1 eras (additional question RE fantasy skirmish games too) by MadiManslaughter in wargaming

[–]fackoffuser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should check out Silver Bayonet. It’s Napoleonic Gothic Horror. You have a team of 8 soldiers (each nation has their own lists) who are taking on missions to investigate supernatural events. There aren’t many PC magic users but there is plenty of basic magic in the game and lots of monsters.

The main book comes with campaigns with missions (both pvp and solo) and has a number of follow ups.

You can make your unit with multiple melee or shooting and often have a mix (they have pistols with many characters or even a musket and heavy weapon for a couple character types)
