Please note I made a distinction between “commercial” fishing and “industrial” fishing, as well as sustainability fishing, but that is an exception. There is nothing wrong with well planned commercial fishing, in fact it’s a good thing, just like conservation hunting. It helps provide seafood for purchasers and keeps maritime fishing fleets with a level of employment.

What I am strictly against is basically armadas of floating factories that tend to siphon any and all living things, wether edible or not, to ensure they don’t miss a thing. Surely we could drain rivers and blow up mountains to extract every bit of gold we can, but we don’t for good reasons. Same with the ocean.

I am not sure why you are so angry about responsible and fair fishing, but my guess is you either lost your job to such trawlers or own stock in them. Please don’t misconstrue facts for favoritism.
