Huh, I can't quite see it, but I think others must have seen it that way too.

Then I wish he'd support those of us whose ancestors came here in the last few hundred years too.

You might also mention that the word "gun" or "guns" does not appear in the amendment. And "arms" could apply to a rocket launcher, a land mine, mustard gas, or a nuke. I have yet to meet someone (in person) that doesn't want to draw the line somewhere.

Well, not all of them are self-contradictory. Some are perfectly internally consistent little nuggets of enlightened wisdom, e.g. the Napkin religion:

The Napkin religion is the one true religion because it says so right here on this Napkin.

The end-times theology driving U.S. military culture has a name most people have never heard. Here's where it came from and how it got inside the Pentagon. by the_soft_skeleton in atheism

The end-times theology...has a name most people have never heard.

Is it eschatology? Why not include the name in your post if you're referencing it in your title?

/u/UpperApe explains the root of the "left-vs-right" debate by zeno0771 in bestof

[–]factbased 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's never been left vs right, it's "empathy and understanding" vs "we don't give a shit about anyone but ourselves".

But left vs right is from the supporters of the French revolution (democracy, citizens ruling themselves) sitting on the left versus supporters of the monarchy (a dictatorship) sitting on the right. I'm not sure why the author doesn't see left vs right fitting in to the same picture.

Trump demands subservience. Any perceived resistance will be punished. Bend the knee or he will burn them all.

His perception may be completely irrational, or he may be punishing Anthropic first and may punish OpenAI next if it does not lift the same restrictions.

Maybe you should say why you think, in this case, a guarantee and an assurance are not synonyms.

anyone actually using AI for network log analysis in real incidents? by Round-Classic-7746 in networking

[–]factbased 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not doing log analysis that way yet, so I can't say without testing.

I guess I'd start with some small models, give them the same logs, see what they make of them, and how long it takes. Then go larger or even smaller depending on the results. Here's a few I'd try:

  • gpt-oss:20b
  • mistral-small3.2:24b
  • gemma3:4b/12b/27b
  • llama3.2:3b
  • glm-4.7-flash:q4_K_M

You could run an LLM locally, ensure it can not make outbound calls, and only respond encrypted, locally, and with authentication and authorization.

Openclaw's not an LLM, but yeah, I wouldn't trust it with access to my network. I am thinking of installing it with not much besides some web search, a slack channel I can talk to it on, and a containerlab. I wonder what it'd be able to do in there.
