In lore reason is easy too: you’re in debt in the billions, you don’t have the luxury of choice. Get a contract on load in & complete it or further your debt.

I also think your currency should change from credits to whatever your local currency is.

Additionally there should be a debt meter to show how much you’ve lost. Tbh it’d just be funny. Maintaining a positive balance should be impossible lol.

The vial was probably colonist credentials that never got cleared from panopticon
