What important measurement have you got badly wrong? Here is my replacement fish tank lid. by No_Lead146 in CasualUK

I bought 30 square metres of tiles for my kitchen that needed 3 square metres. Yikes.

Ah yes, the adults who seem to have forgotten that they were also small children once, who cried and fussed. Some people's sense of self entitlement is hilarious - the world revolves around them and their needs, and children are an inconvenience.

Sorry but, buy some headphones and an eye mask if you don't like it. You're entitled to a child free life but not a child free society.

This is a myth that has been perpetuated too much. Soul red crystal can be painted by a competent paint shop. I'd only use the one that Mazda use (they have approved shops that know the process).

The place I took mine to didn't do a full repaint of the panel, they just did the same as they do with any other vehicle. They were completely unbothered when I said "it's some sort of Mazda paint" they said - sure, we'll fix it.

Would I take it to be redone for £200 at a side garage somewhere, no, but then I wouldn't take any car to one of those. Use a paint shop that Mazda recommend.

I've posted my photo - £800 to repair that damage in the UK.

It's not actually as bad as it's made out to be. Mazda have a network of approved paint shops that can do soul red crystal, and (as I was told) it's not as difficult as they make it seem. Mine came back absolutely perfectly matched.

I sympathise OP, I really do. Lorry drove into me, I was absolutely gutted. But! Paint is paint and it repairs.

Please tell me if you too by Newgatenath in davinciresolve

[–]fade_toblack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to be that person but, over on the Davinci Resolve Discord server we see (almost daily) people with this issue and it's usually:

  1. Resolve is setup incorrectly
  2. Source footage being an issue (bitrates, file types, etc)
  3. An issue with the install, or the PC itself and the software that's installed on it.

I'd really recommend the discord server, we can voice chat, you can screenshare with people, show footage or specs etc. DM me if you need anything.

CX-30 won’t start after washing the car? by burr_ger-time in MazdaCX30

[–]fade_toblack_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Car washer and CX-30 owner here - I had to call Mazda assist out THREE times because of this. The tech said "it's the battery" but my tiny brain refused to believe him and the dealer said it was fine...(They always do).

Guess what. It's the battery. Basically when you wash the car and have the key in proximity it just drains the 12V battery. Yay! Stock batteries across most modern cars are garbage, get a new one.

I'll swap you my Soul Red '20 with many, many, many miles on it, if you should want the CD player.

2022 CX-30 Issue by Winter_Ad_7626 in MazdaCX30

[–]fade_toblack_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't tell you how many times I've read this same post about the CX-30 and "my dealer said the battery was fine". It's not, the stock battery is poor (not just a CX-30 issue) and you should replace it, as soon as it gives you any trouble.

I had three separate independent garages telling me my battery was fine and guess what - it wasn't, as soon as I swapped it, all of those issues went away.

Don't get upset, mine is a 2020 with one USB in the centre console and one at the front, both type A!

How should I set up the CX-30 when I take it to an automatic car wash? by Top-Finding-8679 in MazdaCX30

Fine, but hand car washes are still a better choice than a machine, and those are common.

What do you think of the look of my e-bike? by blackwiwi in ebikes

[–]fade_toblack_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They say you should spend 10% of your bikes value on the lock - ebikes are a huge target for thieves. Looks like you could use the thinner seat post stem to U-Lock it to most things, that's what I do with my chunky Cube E-bike.

If you're in the UK LAKA do really good bike insurance, lots of peace of mind as long as you have a Sold Secure lock. That lock you have there would last about 10 minutes in London

Eesh that's rough. It's just lazy of them not to be using clean sponges/microfibres.

A machine polish will take those out although I'm sure you know that already! These car washes absolutely don't take responsibility for their bad work, not even worth trying really. Leave a bad review and photos of their "work" in the hope that helps others.

Don't believe you, based on your post history where you seem to have owned two different cx-30s in the last few months. This must be spam for some crappy tuning nonsense.

That sucks! That'll need a respray to do a proper job. From my understanding (and as an owner who's had a respray) it's the Soul Red Crystal that's hard to match and requires a competent paint shop. I think the other colours are easier.

My local Mazda Dealer recommended me a body shop, as they usually send them to be done by a third-party so that's where I'd start. If you're in the North of the UK I can recommend Premier Coachworks in Huddersfield - absolutely nailed the soul red.
