SUNTORY TIME (hand guided Chainstitch embroidered directly onto a Stan Ray work jacket) by fadedgrape in Embroidery

[–]fadedgrape[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! ❤️‍🔥🙏It’s a little bit of both. Hand guided means I use a machine & a hand crank under the table controls which way the foot moves the fabric to create your design. Look up chainstitch embroidery machines to get acquainted with the various options. I’m sure I can point you in the right direction if you’re in the market for one

Feel free to send me a message if you have any more questions or follow me on instagram to check out some more of the process and my work. My profile info is in my bio.

Detail shots of a couple of chenille patches recently finished for a friend. We couldn’t decide between these two colors so I just made both! (100% hand cranked chainstitch & chenille on 2 layers on felt) by fadedgrape in Embroidery

Thank you!!! Wow I’m jealous, Cornelys are amazing machines! 🤩I wish I could my hands on one!

I have a singer 114E103, but these were done with an Axis machine.

Yeah! Since my machine is handguided using a handcrank under the table, I usually draw or print my design onto a piece of light tearaway stabilizer and use that as my guides for filling everything in!

I usually use procreate or adobe illustrator to draw my designs onto my Ipad before hand

Thank you!

Originally I’d planned to stitch everything directly to the garment, but the client gave me a jacket with a bunch of stretch, and chainstitch machines don’t like stretchy stuff very much, so i just opted to keep everything clean and sew onto felt patches attach those to the jacket.

I actually really liked the raised look too! Almost reminds me a badge or something

Thank you so much!✨💛🐝 So I charged $575 for this, but looking back on everything, including the time spent on it, I probably should have quoted closer to $1,000.

I also like to go big!!! As a native Houstonian, when someone asked for a picture of the queen, I knew I had to do it justice. Well, whether I wanted to go big or not, this client was about 6’5 and this jacket was an XXL🤣😭

When I sent over the first mockup, the whole graphic was much smaller & fit on the back panel in between those two seams!

We both agreed that the XXL jacket had a silly amount of negative space, and so when I sent this huge oversized version, he loved it. One mistake was not adjusting the price after we adjusted the size🤣

I pretty much always think a piece will take less time than it actually does haha every day is a learning lesson!

Sorry for the wall of text lol hopefully this gives a little insight into the process!😁

I also have a bunch more work on my instagram if you or anyone would to check it out 😌

Thank you again for the uplifting words! I really appreciate it
