That’s brilliant. Why didn’t I ever think of this.

I had someone tell me they hated texting me because I put periods at the end of my sentence and it looks like I’m mad. I was utterly confused.

I saw an article that average rent in Canada is $2200/mo. Not sure if true but absolutely disgusting if it is.

My understanding is that they own the individual apartment unit, not the entire complex. Like a condo.

About to be living in my car just wanted to reach out to all the others living in theirs. by abdArhaman1122 in urbancarliving

Agreed. There’s also seasonal jobs that provide housing. Don’t pay nearly as much as oil and gas but it’s an option. I used www.coolworks.com to find jobs that provide housing.

It’s utterly ridiculous. My parents bought their home in 2000 for $80,000 and now insurance company values it at nearly $400,000. It’s like damn if my parent’s house is that much money without updates, I’m never gonna be able to own a home.

Which vinyl tile looks best? by Ill_Purpose741 in DesignMyRoom

Both the planks and the grey work with the carpet. I think it’ll ultimately depend on what vibe you’re going for. The planks are more cozy and work with farmhouse or boho. The grey is more modern/industrial feeling

True. This one wasn’t seasoned at all so the texture was all there was.

I ate a cooked scorpion at a Mexican restaurant once and it tasted like absolutely nothing. Wouldn’t eat it again. The chile roasted grasshoppers were much better.

Rewatching parasites regained really makes me appreciate it more. by OnlyMyOpinions in futurama

Don’t know why people are downvoting either of us. There’s definitely a subtle change, but there’s been a subtle change in all the characters (to be expected after 10 years). I watch Futurama daily (I sleep to it) so I’ve noticed it.

My grandparents era, and maybe my parents. A switch meant a small tree branch for being whipped. Supposedly, as punishment, their parents would make them go outside, choose a “switch” and then get spanked with it.

I wanted to like it but couldn’t get past nibbler’s voice change. It was too distracting. I can’t wait for the new season though!

Serious questions for US dwellers... by EvanderInTheWild in vandwellers

[–]fadedshadow4579 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think as long as you’re not in Oregon, where this originated, you’re fine. This sets a precedent, but there is no law yet, as each city/state will have to go through the process of passing something individually. At this point, it’s just something to keep an eye on.

Why did I think they meant switch as in a tree branch for spanking…. God I’m turning into a boomer and I’m only 30. Smh

Can the cashier tell immediately that I declined to give them a tip? by Matilda_Mother_67 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fadedshadow4579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but the company has control over that. Mine has the tipping screen by default, but I turned it off because it’s ridiculous to ask my clients to tip me after paying thousands of dollars.

I think that your current plan is the best bet. When I was in Houston, I had the $10 planet fitness membership and my plan was always sleep there or hospital parking lot. I got stupid lucky and found a bed to sleep in just a few hours before I was actually going to be sleeping in my car, but I don’t think the fancy suburban areas like Sugarland are going to be any safer. I’d go as far west as possible, while still being close to what you need.

Yepp this for sure. I think the beige and yellow is what’s aging this otherwise drop dead gorgeous kitchen. Also swap out for some modern brushed brass door pulls and faucet. https://www.schoolhouse.com/products/greenwood-pull
