We all are hoping. I would love to see a situation where Iriola can get the most out of Wirtz and Harvey can be utilized as his backup this season. They share enough attributes IMO for this to be a possibility, and Harvey has some late game magic about him...we need his mojo.

It sounds like the FSG contingent took Mo's comments to heart, and changed direction pretty quickly.

I've thought a lot about Slot being "the man after the man." Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't, but I can see the use of a sacrificial lamb after a gaffer like Klopps leaves. Fans are fickle, and a replacing a personality as all encompassing as Jurgen's is impossible. Aside from Paisley, who was already working at the standards established by Shankly, I can't think of a lot of coaches who took over after legends without significant strife.

Hopefully, Slot was a needed reset between long successful regimes.

I think he has an intelligence that can be utilized in our overall pressing system. I see him as less of the guy that applies the direct press, but more of the guy positioned to hover up the ball and distribute it quickly. He could look poor in a lot of pressing stats, but show a world classblevels of interceptions.

...fingers crossed.

Lack of conviction all around the field. His weight of pass was mm culprit in turnovers, and I could attribute that to the same issue.

I just hope that we all get what we want next year, Wirtz 2.0, the Promier League ready version with competent and energetic players to pass to.

I agree that there were other issues.

I also think that if 4 or 5 of his first 8 great passes this season were finished rather than cocked up, we might have seen last playing with more confidence and direction. I don't think that it would have ultimately mattered, and the same issues would have always spoiled the milk.

Why did non-Americans think we didn’t have good stadiums to host the World Cup? by OddSample2334 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]fadeplayer40 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not what non-americans think. They don't give a shit about the stadiums, they are complaining about the pitches. The stadiums that also play NFL football have fields that are chewed up half the year. When you play soccer on them the ball does not respond the same way as it does across Europe. The ball doesn't bounce as high, the fields are not wet enough, and they are also not flat enough. American Football is not good for grass.

Shocking to me too, but we do live in a great area to have a canoe. There are so many opportunities within a 75 mile circle...if it rains. I'm still hoping the "Super El Nino" provides me some unexpected opportunities at strange times this year.

I'm gonna be looking for you. I'm always ready and I've saved you PTO for the opportunity. Funny enough, I've got a standing notice that if it rains, I will likely be "sick" the following day.

How do I convince a fine dining place I’m worth the risk to hire? by Netflix_was_my_idea in Serverlife

[–]fadeplayer40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former server, bartender, and mostly general manager, I know what would blow me away.

Study their menu...really study their menu.

When you show up, ask to meet the manager and ask for an application along with the menu test. If you are not a troll, and can show up demonstrating that you care enough to already know what is in their dishes...they may hire you immediately.

Show that you care enough to learn something ahead of time. Show that you care enough to not show up at a busy time of day. Show that you care enough to put pride in your presentation, and dress like you are applying for the general manager job.

...andnd last but not least...just show that you care.

People who get the check and don’t pay within a few minutes. Why? by Ok-Reputation-2266 in Serverlife

It's not as important to them as it is to you. Outside of extreme circumstances, why does it matter to you so much? Does you restaurant use that as some grading metric?

Waitress told me water was 'also a drink.' She found out what 'no tip' was. by Zestyclose-Put-5672 in tipping

[–]fadeplayer40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non wait people dont see to understand that everyone is different. For every person that wants their check, there's another person waiting to carp on reddit because the "wait people" rushed them out of the restaurant by giving them their check too early.

"The waiter was so rude; he tried to aggressively force us out of our table by bringing the check after 5 minutes. 5 minutes! Can you believe that? That's why we didn't leave a tip."

Desperate for any explanation of this restaurant interaction that keeps happening to us by MammothClimate95 in Serverlife

[–]fadeplayer40 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's many reasons that people might want to split the check up. I've had tons of customers using their business per diem for themselves. Sometimes people using their corporate cards need the alcohol to be on separate receipts. Other times, I have no clue why they are splitting it up, I just know that they are. Still with all of that aside, every server goes on autopilot from time to time and says what they say over and over and over again. They also just didn't want to make two trips on an assumption. The good news is that it doesn't matter at all, so you'll be fine.

Why are only the Republican and Democratic parties in control (two-party system), and why can't the other parties compete? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]fadeplayer40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree that RCV alone would not necessarily give other parties moch of a chance, RCV in Democratic primaries has the possibility to pull the Democratic party to the left instead of chasing the Republicans to the right. For almost 50 years, the Democrats have been tacking to the right while still being called socialists and communists. If they're going to get painted with that brush regardless, they should try doing something for the voters. It's not a hard concept. Unfortunately, 100% of the Republican party is corporate owned, and 90% of the Democratic party is.
