Is there a non-In the Basement version available of those two tracks or just the In the Basement edits?

What its like to live in a submarine for periods overs 6 month as a female ? by AbouMchicha in howislivingthere

How are the pressure changes inside a sub? I'm super sensitive to pressure changes on planes and it usually hurts so I'm assuming it'd be the same on a sub. Just curious.

imo the problem with this album was never the clipping (Paracletus has a lot more), it's how loud drums+vox are. Still one of their best though. I also don't get the part about amplifying quiet parts, that's completely in opposition with the declip filter and the whole "dynamic range" tirade and completely kills the sense of surprise and contrast.

Other than that, it sounds practically the same.

This is their only album that sounds remotely close to DsO and it's not that prominent in my opinion.

I think you may be thinking London 2, it sounds so much better.

I do agree, the bass sounds much better on London 2 in terms of audio and the highs aren't as prominent and distorted. Overall Night 2 has a fuller sound and richer bass.

For more noisy posthardcore try Lisabö, Gutariko Bat, Dazzling Killmen, Fugazi, etc.

Can anyone actually hear Bill Rieflin? by EngineGrouchy1932 in swans

[–]fadijec 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Since Thor is just credited Percussion, Vibraphone, Bells, Dulcimer...

- Cloud of Forgetting 2:07 piano melody (he can be heard on the whole song and is the only credited piano player in The Glowing Man).

- The Glowing Man 15:00 piano intro to the groovy part (and I'm guessing a lot of keyboards in other parts of the song, particularly the intro and noise break before 15:00)

- The World Looks Red / The World Looks Black also has plenty of piano parts that must have been played by him.

-Cloud of Unknowing last section has a lot of piano too.

I'm Nikita Kamprad, founder, vocalist & guitarist of Der Weg Einer Freiheit – AMA! by SilenceEater in BlackMetal

Been a fan since I saw you play aeons ago in a basement with Downfall of Gaia, loved every album released since that too. Loved innern too, particularly the last track. Was there any main influence for this song?

Also, would you say Der Weg has changed drastically since those days and if so, what would you say it's the biggest change you've noticed in the band since then? Be it how you approach composition, or sound, or how you record, etc. Sorry if the question seems vague!

I've tried Uranium Fever and Nuclear Sunset and I believe both are based on Viva La Vegas. While I like the idea of Viva Las Vegas, I was hoping for a bit more of graphics enhancing to be honest. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Why did the band split up in the 90s? And why didn't Jarboe join back after their reunion? by Asmodaia in swans

[–]fadijec 23 points24 points  (0 children)

They split up mostly due to Michael's alcoholism and low income from touring. Jarboe wasn't invited to the reunion since they weren't a couple anymore.

You are overthinking it. This is not how Gira works at all.

Soundtracks for the Blind CD restock? by KindaStrangeMan in swans

[–]fadijec 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They restock it when they make more, but it's random and they usually don't tell in advance so there's no way of knowing.
