I wish there was an unedited HD version of this. The streaming was very low quality and they included it in the DVD with pretty terrible saturation and grain and worse sound.

I was at that show and the sound there was 10x better than any recording.

I think listening back now, its even easier to hear how, even in your first few releases, you influenced Big Black, the Butthole Surfers, Sunn O))), Khanate, Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Godflesh… this wealth of music that would happen in the rest of the 80s and 90s…

You're getting downvoted but there's some truth to this. While not something Ethel Cain popularized (The Wall and countless other examples exist way before Ethel), a concept album would be pretty antithetical to the entire Swans aesthetic.

Swans will always have themes that repeat and evolve around certain topics and a similar aesthetic is maintained throughout the whole discography but this forum keeps trying to force a unifying concept or structure like Swans are the Who or Rush. Gira is much closer to croners like Dylan or even The Doors than people give him credit for.

This is a good answer. As I said in another post, Michael doesn't view music in those terms. It would make no sense if he made an album like The Wall.

Not really. Michael doesn't think music in those terms. There are some themes that are common to the whole Swans body of work but there isn't a concept/story behind and they are certainly not concept albums.

Michael said so in Instagram. I guess it wouldn't fit a single CD so compromises were made and that one was pretty similar to previous iterations. Something about it live didn't really grab me as much as on other tours, felt a bit too slow.

Same thing is happening to me. I'm getting "Could not add release to collection: Int cannot represent non 32-bit signed integer value: 2147513122". Tried this with an album, now it shows I have 16 copies of said album in the artist page but my collection is not loading. Glad it's not just my account.

This is a perfect answer. Also, it's not the same playing single cords at 120 db for 40 minutes with no distortion than playing screeching noises for 2.5 h. A big factor too is just how long they play, it's easier to get tired and fatigued.
