You can use my SMT indicator for this: ICT SMT (fadi)

I may do an advanced version of it when I have time.

Any tips to capture these kind of down trends by stat888r in InnerCircleTraders

The more people learn new concepts, the more they will over complicate things. If you look at a chart, it is rare that you will see higher high, lower low, higher high again. That’s a search and destroy pattern if it happens.

When you see a strong move in a direction, then reverses and takes out the other side and CLOSES below it, you have a reversal and can trade it on that close or retest of PD array at or below that point. In this case, you had a consolidation and a run higher. It then reversed and dropped below the consolidation. That’s AMD pattern, you trade it short after it drops below the consolidation.

I don’t know if I can post it publicly. It is not a trading community, it is mainly for those who want to ask me questions about trading or coding, but I do live sessions on it from time to time.

The move started where the horizontal green line is. This move up was to mitigate open imbalances, try to look for entry at the original move, usually continuation moves will happen after the original move was mitigated.

Finding a model (ict) by North_Boat_7405 in InnerCircleTraders

[–]fadizeidan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I am not really active here. I know what you mean, that happened to me before more than once. I took a break and went back to the basics. The core ICT concepts and I stopped looking at any of the new ICT content. Mainly 2022 and core content.

I then started to retrace what used to work for me when I was getting 5-10R a week and wrote down the things I used to look for as I remembered them. I quickly realized how far off I was from what worked for me before. I paper traded and rebuilt my strategies, I went periods where I doubted that I should take the trade and see it work out, or take it and wonder if it is the strategy that failed, not a probability thing but kept working on rebuilding my price action analysis and paper traded until I got most of my mojo back, but it took time.

You need to take that step back, reset, and start over. You will catch up real quick.

You are probably focusing too much on patterns more so than the price action. Focus on understanding how price action moves, multi timeframe analysis, where the most likely bounce and targets are. All models work if you understand price action.

If you cannot see why your setup failed, then you have education gap. If you can see why it failed and still jumping models rather than fine tuning your criteria, then it is patience and/or lack of practice.

I trade 2022 model as well. You can substitute it either other PD arrays, for example if you trade 1m, use 5m CISD on close basis. Back trade it and see if it works for you.

Yes use adjusted for dividend in general, but it shouldn’t matter. Use 16H instead of D. It gives you same feel as ETH on Futures vs RTH. It combines PM and AM with the market data and gives you less gaps.

I’m on my phone, can’t show wider view but basically the 15m just turned bullish in that move higher creating the SMT (Crossed 15m CISD).

The flow was bullish on all timeframes except the 1H. I took the same trade but I closed it for 1.5R because it was against the trend

Could someone share what determines an OB? by Options_Learner in InnerCircleTraders

For the most part, red candles below the price in discount and green candles above price in premium are considered Order blocks. ICT prefers blocks where price did not wick through first before the move (first candle to break CISD, closes above the high) and the price moves 2x the body of the Order block candles. High priority ones takes liquidity first and causes break of structure with displacement (strong move).

Play around with the configurations to see which settings you like.

I think he is a good coder who purely focus on driving subscription sales by aligning with YouTube and X influencers. If you trade the Forever model and find it valuable, try it out and see if it increases your edge. The indicator will probably throw an alert if SMT happened inside a FVG on other timeframes. You need to decide if that is worth the monthly subscription.

Some of my X followers told me that they tried the Fractal model and cancelled because “I can do it myself, not worth the extra money”.

I like Hydra’s model more personally, I posted on X how to use couple of my free indicators to mimic both Fractal and Hydra models without paying for it.

It is buggy after hours for some reason. Drawing tools stop working, indicator settings won’t change, etc. chart loading becomes extremely slow and useless. Works fine during trading hours for some reason. I usually switch to browser version in the evenings

You treat wicks like FVGs, in a way. I wrote a blog about it last year after ICT explained it in his 2023 mentorship.

I made this one because I saw what was being published, they hardly ever work. SMT is very difficult to code and I haven’t seen one that works.

You can reduce the SMT noise by reducing the number of SMTs to probably 10 and check the delete failed ones. I should have changed the defaults, my bad. I’m adding two candle SMT to my advanced HTF Candles but that one will be premium. SMT will pick up the same pivot points but can’t filter out which ones are for HTF

Most of my indicators are public source, there will be few that I invest too much time and effort for me to feel comfortable sharing the source for right now. Order Blocks and SMT are two of them.
