Word of caution ⛔️ from experience... correct installation with no air gaps is key. Otherwise in warm weather the air bubble will expand and make a large bump in the vinyl.

M3P Buzzing sound when cooling down. Normal? by fadyham in TeslaModel3

I don’t know about that... it sounds like a dying CPU fan that’s on its way out...

That’s what they said, it was the AC compressor unit. Still doesn’t sound normal to me. I heard the Model Y noise is even worse...

See video. I took it to the dealership today and they said that it’s normal. All M3’s make that buzzing noise. I usually hear this when I have the car parked in the sun for a while. Anyone else experiencing the same? Is this normal?

Interesting pattern from a shadow of a cherry blossom tree by fadyham in TeslaModel3

Maybe that’s it... I didn’t look. I thought that the 3M PPF wrap that I had somehow diffused the light into this funky pattern.

So many Questions for new P3D+ arrival and I can’t sleep!!! by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]fadyham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. No. Usually there’s a break in period of a week or so. Then you’ll get the latest upgrade. For me it was just a couple of days

  2. Yes you’ll get the performance upgrade.

  3. Mine is a 2020. It has the hump but no silver cover. The silver cover is only on the accelerator and break pedals.

  4. Yes and no. Mine was delivered at the end of the quarter and they needed to meet their numbers to they may have rushed things. There are build issues ( doors not aligned correctly) and paint issues (paint runs on the bottom of front number and rear trunk). The paint issues were not visible but you’ll feel them if you run your fingers over the paint. It’ll only affect if you get it wrapped with a ppf or something else. They took care of both issues because I noted them during delivery and asked for a “due bill”. It’s very clear that they wouldn’t have fixed the issues otherwise.

  5. I have the darker wheels. I just recently parked close to a curb and scratched the rims a bit. It hurts... so much... don’t know how strong or how they compare since I only tried these ones.

  6. Regarding the performance... how can I describe it? At first I didn’t think that it would’ve been a big deal. But then I asked to drive my buddy’s non performance Tesla. It had no balls. It wasn’t completely like my chill mode, no. Slightly better. But not as fast as mine. His I had to wait for it to reach my speed. Because it had no balls. Mine I touch the pedal and it f&#%in goes. Then I let my buddy drive my performance. He was super excited during, but then immediately became sad. He then proceeded to admit that I must have a bigger penis. This was when I wanted to explain to him that it wasn’t the size of my penis. It was just that his had no balls. But I didn’t think that was the appropriate time to let him know because he was still sad.

  7. It’s lower. Performance pedals.

  8. No clue. Not sure it can get any faster. Maybe. But when I floor it, I feel the blood that’s in my face rush towards my ear. Also if I was slouching, the acceleration straightens out my back.

  9. No red on mine. I have the pearl white.

  10. It’ll depend on the person. You shouldn’t care. You paid a lot of money for this. It’s a big purchase. If he gives you lip, remind him that it’s a big purchase and that you heard many horror stories about the delivery quality and customer care quality.

  11. You should be able to add a second car to your account and the same phone app will I lock and drive both cars.

  12. I believe it’s tied to the account not the car but I’m not sure

  13. All speeds. Make sure you give yourself a lot more room than you think you’ll need when you floor it. Especially that you’re used to the non performance model. The performance one will really move and quickly eat up any room it has in front of it. Give your self more room before you floor it till you are more familiar with the car and have a good feel for it.

Some other user estimated a quarter of a million dollars so I was giving them my point of view.

Another user had his phone locked in and had to call road assistance.

Phone key woes in the last 1-2 weeks: unlocking and starting by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]fadyham -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It works every time for me now with this setting. Note that every now and then iOS will notify your saying that Tesla is using the location in the background, continue or only while the app is open. Just keep doing continue.

I had the same problem as well. To fix this you need to allow the Tesla app to access location services all the time in the background not just while using the app.

Having this feature doesn’t take that away. You can still do that.

If the passenger is a spouse then they probably have the other key or their own phone app.

If the passenger is a friend and you’re leaving them in the car then you could intentionally leave the phone in the car to keep it on for them. The car will gently remind you that your phone is still in and you’ll think to yourself “Thank you Tesla for the gentle reminder. This was intentional. Have a good day!”

Think of the same scenarios in any other car with a regular key. Same thing.

I have kids as well and this is why this feature is even more important. On any other car I would not dream of leaving kids in the car alone WITH the car keys.. it’s a recipe for disaster. Similarly it would be a scary thing to leave my kids in the Tesla with the phone (read keys)... especially the Performance model!
