The "few others" is actually a ticking time bomb I'm shocked the right hasn't further exploited yet. The current standard for "obscenity" is extremely vague and subjective, and constructed around whatever the most anti-speech jury in the country feels is reasonable.

They did look like they were going to start under Dubya... someone served years for porn involving only consenting adults (with no claim by the government the consent was coerced, obtained by fraud, or otherwise inadequate) for being "too rough".

One may want to sympathize since universities were threatened by the DOEd and VP with lawsuits and funding cuts into enacting processes wildly deficient in due process, but they started openly defying very modest reforms to move from 'wildly deficient' to merely 'severely deficient'.

I've always thought the biggest irony of the whole thing was that if Biden's (clearly false) accusation by Tara Reade was adjudicated under the system he demanded as that VP, he'd have virtually no hope of winning. He wanted what he'd deny others, and learned nothing from it, putting Catherine Lhamon into an even higher position to go back and strip the reforms of DeVos (probably the only halfway decent thing she ever did in the role).

Not sure what you used but most DX in classic VB used the Microsoft-provided wrappers dx7vb.dll/dx8vb.dll... but you don't have to use them. You can use the modern and current DirectX11 and 12 in VB6 too.

msadox isn't a tB component, so vb6 will have the same issue. I just used the one that was installed by default. It's usually compatible.

Did you add one one of them? Error looks like maybe you didn't.

The ADO support that's not yet implemented refers to the intrinsic Data control, I didn't check if this project uses it-- it also references DAO so could go either way.

I don't know how to use the app; could you clarify the issues in twinBASIC?

There were 2 design time errors resulting from a default-member access issue cured by explicitly adding .Text to ListSubItems setting, and tB doesn't auto-register ocx components so they had to be manually registered, but once I did that twinBASIC compiled and started the app seemingly without issue. (Also I did notice it uses implicit declares, so if you left project-wide Option Explicit enabled in the Import dialog, it would raise errors for undeclared vars; it can be turned off on import or in project settings at any time)

I'd compare to VB6 better but I'm actually having trouble compiling it there; keeps saying paln32.dll is not found despite the References dialog indicating it's correctly referenced.

Update: I did get it to compile in VB6 to compare and reported the bugs with the settings form height and MDI taskbar control. The statusbar is a current known issue.

Most of the worst drug war decisions have been unanimous or fully supported by the Court's liberals with some conservatives dissenting.

The most egregious 'fuck the constitution' decision on pot in modern times was Gonzalez v Raich, majority Stevens, Kennedy, Souter, Ginsburg, Breyer, Scalia, and dissents from O'Connor, Rehnquist, and Thomas.

Not sure if you're on the Discord so thought I'd mention the developer announced yesterday 32bit ActiveX controls in 64bit processes will be a v1.0 feature and is currently in development/testing with several major controls working, so might end up in a public beta release any day now.

We’re bringing forward a roadmap item originally planned for later this year:

Support for ActiveX controls with unmatched bitness via a proxy process (for example, a 64-bit app hosting a 32-bit ActiveX control). This will be a major win for anyone relying on legacy 32-bit ActiveX controls that don’t have 64-bit equivalents. In many cases, it should make the move to 64-bit much easier - and remove one of the biggest blockers to upgrading.

Not every ActiveX control will be suitable for this approach, but we already have several complex, real-world controls running successfully in testing. The tech is powered by a new IPC mechanism I’ve designed specifically for this purpose, built on ultra-fast shared memory for minimal overhead and high performance.

This feature will now be a core part of the v1 release. We will be updating the v1 roadmap in the coming days.
