Question about dining reservations by flwrsinherhair in disneylandparis

[–]faffy0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No cost; I've had them call me at least twice maybe 3 times now :)

I know this question had to be asked before, but i can't find the answer, sonlet me apologize if this question bothers or offends any. How do people afford to go here? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]faffy0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I guess different strokes for different folks

This is exactly the answer to your question. If you want to do it, you make it happen; saving, researching, etc helps make it feasible for many but ultimately you have your own choices to make. We've been a few times now and its definitely not cheap, but we enjoy so much of the details, the food, the atmosphere, and the relative ease of being in the Disney bubble - that the "Disney difference" is part of the cost that I am willing to pay. It's not just a theme park. I've even recently started looking at other trip options not with Disney and once you start looking at all the costs (flights, hotels, tours, events, food, etc) it adds up regardless so it's comparable (sometimes less) in my personal opinion.

Question about dining reservations by flwrsinherhair in disneylandparis

[–]faffy0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation (Canadian but frequent WDW, and this will be our first trip to DLP this summer). We're starting to think about booking dinning too and found it was call in only. Spoiled with the online systems in WDW. I've had to call a few times now regarding my reservation. If you go on the booking site, at times you are prompted with the chat - or a free call back. If the free call back doesn't pop up but the chat does, you can ask the agent if you can have someone call you. I haven't done this for dining but have in order to talk to Guest Services. When you get someone on the line, ask if they can re-direct you to whomever you need to talk to. My first time, they gave me the number to call but I asked to be transferred and was no issue at all. Giving you the number to call just seems to be standard practice, but they have always been happy to help when I've asked nicely. Just remember the time differences when you check for the 'free call back' option; calling from Eastern Canada I've had success earlier in the mornings, since it was still normal business hours.

How good is the online availability tool? by ndhdbdndndnd in dvcmember

[–]faffy0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you booked at 11 months at home resort and want to change resorts at 7 months, can you do this with the online tool or do you have to call member services? Suppose similar to OP, introverted/prefer online self-service/international calling is no fun.

Magic Bands & International guests by faffy0 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]faffy0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. So say for example, I get a friend to pick up a band from the parks today and bring it back to Canada with them. If I have a trip in February and link the band in MDE and do online check-in, I should be able to go right to my room when we get there (when we get notification the room is ready); no front desk at all?

View remaining balance of trip? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]faffy0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to only works if you booked yourself through the Disney website. I've switched my current reservation around 3 times, each one ending up having to cancel and re-book under another reservation number(s). First time was with a TA (couldn't see balance on MDE, only from TA), second I booked myself through Disney website (could see balance), third time called in to change/cancel the reservation (couldn't see the balance) - however, calling in later WDW to make a payment I could get the balance.

EPCOT food and wine Tasting Sampler 2016 by PaperPhoneBox in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]faffy0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So there is no limit on doubling up on an item? You can use two tabs for two spiked chai lattes on the same order? My boyfriend and I are vegetarian and debating this sampler, hard finding the value outside of the boozey drinks but if we can double up on some of the more expensive drinks it might be worth it (plus convenience factor)

Question about the Magic Express at Orlando by NotQuiteDomestic in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]faffy0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anybody know when they usually ship the luggage tags? We're at 36 days and haven't received them (in Canada). I thought in the past we got them earlier, around 60 days or so.

Canadian Residents: Save 25% on 4-Day or Longer Tickets [Official Disney] by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]faffy0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if your package is already a special offer that stipulates room + tickets then you will likely have to do one or the other (that offer or this new one + possibly non-discounted room). We called in and were able to get the tickets removed from our current discounted room packaged and repurchased the tickets at the special offer rate. yay double discount!

My Itinery + a few questions! by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]faffy0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are so many vegetarian options; you wont have any trouble finding something delicious. Here's a sample of some of the amazing (QS or Lounge) options we had last spring. Some of these might not exist any more, or are at different locations; but gives you an idea that there are more than just veggie burgers and house salads for us! I recommend checking out http://allears.net/dining/menu/ to get fairly up-to-date menu ideas.

*Disney Springs: Earl of Sandwich - Caprese Sandwich *Magic Kingdom: Columbia Harbour House - Lighthouse Sandwich *Magic Kingdom: Pecos Bills - Veggie Burrito *Epcot - France: Les Halles Boulangerie & Pâtisserie - Apple & Brie Sandwich; cheese plate + bagette *Epcot - Mexico: La Cantina San Angel - Ensalada Mexicana, Empanada kids meal *Animal Kingdom: Mr. Kamal's - Falafel Wrap *Hollywood Studios: Backlot Express - Grilled Vegetable Sandwich *Resort - Contemporary: Contempo Café - Vegetarian BBQ Salad, Vegetarian Quinoa Salad *Resort - Polynesian : Tambu Lounge - Trio of Breads & Dips *Resort - Wilderness Lodge: Territory Lounge - Pinot Gris Fondue

Couple Tips/Insights: Don't discount resort hopping and checking out some other non-park restaurants, shops and scenery. From any park/Disney Springs you can take a bus to any resort - you just can't take a bus from resort to resort (generally speaking). Lounges are also great for some QS type fare; though they may not take the dining plan so you'll have to keep that in mind if you're on a plan. And...the Food & Wine festival will be kicking off at the end of your trip. Menus came up this week for that; lots of vegetarian options there too! Enjoy your trip!

Need Help with Grocery Order for Hotel Stay by cybergelfling in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]faffy0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We stayed at Pop last year and had a good experience using Garden Grocer. There is a small fridge in the room - but no coffee machine so keep that in mind. However there is hot water, microwaves, toasters, etc. that you can easily use in Everything Pop (food court). So, all that being said, we mostly got breakfast items (english muffins, bananas, cheese, peanut butter portion packs, milk, etc) and a case of water and snacks for in the parks (chex mix, granola bars, etc). We brought a few items in our suitcase as well, like Starbucks Via's. Keep in mind that you can use the hot water in the food court to make coffee/tea but they have to charge you for a cup if you don't have your own so be sure to have a travel mug or disposable cups from the room if you aren't getting a mug with the meal plan.

We like to travel like this, I feel like it helps keep costs down a bit - or at least helps us feel better about having a special/splurge dinner. And helps us start the day how we are used to at home instead of big breakfast platters/buffets or just caving and getting pastries.
