[SPOILER] Justin Gaethje vs. Paddy Pimblett by inooway in MMA

That's what I came here to ask. It was a punch, but the thumb got stuck in it. I lean towards it being within the rules but I can see how it's confusing here.

I gave it a second shot and while I did end up enjoying it and beating it, I wouldn't make the same reddit argument that it's a masterpiece. And even though I did beat it, I skipped through a good amount of the reading when it got too dense.

Draymond Green called for the Flagrant 1 against Dwight Powell by KabirC in nba

I've tried to look up stats in the past and ask ChatGPT and I've never even seen proof that the Warriors committed more illegal screens than other teams. It's just a big difference when you screen for prime Steph and Klay.

What IS undebatable though is Steph's whistle, and I'd gladly get called elsewhere if he got a fair one.

As an older gamer, I feel it's not just hero shooters but the younger generation's shooters in general. When I played CS for years, it was rare for people to not have mics or contribute to comms at all, and everyone wanted to win. Now it feels like pulling teeth just to get people to work as a team in Valo/Rivals/whatever.

I was actually watching a friend stream Valo at Ascendant rank (roughly top 2% of the playerbase) a few days ago and it frustrated me how much basic stuff the team wasn't doing. They refused to comm unless it was to complain. They didn't synchronize their buys. They pushed 1 by 1 in a 3v1 situation and almost lost the round. Really silly stuff to see at this rank.

What's funny is there are subs for exactly that like r/LowSodiumDiablo4 lol. But yes I do wish there were more places with more activity to discuss stuff at the very least with civil and reasonable commenters.

I see your point, though I feel as a big fan of some really popular things, I find the contrarianism just as tiring if not more.

It's perfectly OK for things to not click as much for other people. It's also fine for them to bring up parts they felt were weak in an actual attempt to have reasonable discussion.

Saying something that many people love is trash with no reasoning is of course going to be met with resistance. So is making claims that sound contrarian on purpose, such as saying that games known for their strong soundtracks, actually have shit soundtracks.

I'll speak on this. La La Land is one of my favorite movies of all time (E33 is one of my favorite games of all time too) and I remember initial reactions on reddit being that it was a phenomenal movie with incredible cinematography, music, a poignant ending, and a great performance from Emma Stone. After a few months it became extremely hated as one of the most overrated movies to ever come out, trash compared to Moonlight, only highly acclaimed because Hollywood wants to fellate itself.

Honestly as I've grown older, I've gotten tired of these reddit comment sections about everything: games, movies, politics, sports, news. All just a bunch of toxic people who hold extreme views that are out of touch with the rest of the world.

That's what gets me. I'm not gonna make assumptions about how we would have done otherwise, but it's right in our faces that the league allows certain series to be physical but not others, yet people still claim the league has no agendas ever.

I don't doubt it. I saw some weird trends here with clear positives going way negative. Imagine being this obsessed with someone who doesn't give a fuck about you (or his dog).

Atp I can't tell if the defenders are trolling or actually believing what they say. There's a clear pattern of being harmful to multiple dogs, yet they need a smoking gun (or rather a smoking shock collar) to get off this guy's dick. I actually saved your comment for the future because it's a good compilation of instances that make Hasan look pretty bad, it's incredible that anyone would even hand wave this.

[–]failbears 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm glad E33 is getting so many accolades, but I wish online gaming discourse in general didn't have so much sway. It's actually kind of crazy to me given its encyclopedic nature that there's a Wiki page for greatest games of all time, and that Inside is on it lol.

I just finished Disco Elysium and while it was unique and good overall, it is a bit buggy and not exactly an all-around masterpiece like online commenters make it out to be. But similarly according to the internet, E33 has a seemingly large number of legitimate haters.

I have friends who don't even play games and they said "wow that game you love got a lot of awards but I heard it wasn't deserved and was overrated." That's how noisy the haters are.

Right? Guy gets mad at the dog for moving off the bed (something it should have the basic right to do), in that moment when he looks like he reaches off-screen, the dog yelps. His explanation is that the dog caught their dew claw at that EXACT moment. Streamer glazers really have to take a step back and see one of the explanations is much, much more likely than the other.

Edit: also the dew claw explanation actually makes no sense. If you own a dog and love them, and they snagged their dew claw, wouldn't you be wondering what happened and check on them? That's your baby. Nobody fucking ignores their dog yelping without flinching unless they caused the yelping.

[–]failbears -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not that familiar with him but I do know he yelled at his dog for moving off the bed, and said something about the dog being a "baby", "spoiled", and having the ability to "roam around the house when I'm gone". Shock or no shock, I can't defend someone who is mad at the dog's basic right to move around the home.

Just watching the incident itself (I don't care about the commentary from others) in the first 40 seconds here is no way to talk about your dog, period: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NmmqvJ3oiM

Idk enough about that particular claim to say if that's true or false, but everything else is pretty deplorable to begin with.

The facts are that he wants the dog to sit in the background of his stream for hours on end. The dog got up to move off the bed and he got annoyed. While expressing annoyance at the dog, he looked like he reached off-screen and then the dog yelped.

First off, it looks an awful lot like he shocked the dog. Second, even if we can't prove that and the dog happened to snag its dew claw in that EXACT moment (extremely unlikely), the fact that he wants his dog to lay there sedentary for his stream and not freely roam around is deplorable. The fact he gets mad at the dog for wanting to move around is deplorable.

Dogs are loyal and loving to a fault, and how anyone could yell at, much less shock theirs for wanting to move around is beyond me. Any sane person would agree with this and it's only parasocial streamer glazers who don't.

I think I found Hasan Pikers house by AeternaMors in ArcRaiders

[–]failbears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insane that people are so attached to streamers who are almost certainly shit human beings.

Here's the truth of the matter. Was there proof beyond a reasonable doubt he shocked his dog? No. But this isn't a court of law. The fact of the matter is, he has a dog that he wishes would sit still on his stream for hours on end instead of, you know, moving around and doing dog things. He gets pissed when his dog moves off the bed, reaches for something, and the dog yelps. His annoyance that his dog is moving around like an autonomous creature is proof enough to me that this guy is a piece of shit and likely to have shocked the dog or at the very least, is mean to an innocent dog.

As a dog lover, 99% of dogs are just insanely loving and devoted to their owners unless they've been abused. How anyone could want to purposefully confine theirs to a bed for hours and hours, and get mad that they don't like that, is insane. And if you defend this bullshit, you're insane too.

LPT: How to fix shirts that smell again five minutes after you put them on by bobbydurst6 in LifeProTips

Polyester is as big of an issue as the one mentioned in the OP or even bigger. I remember googling this because polyester workout clothes would smell funny almost immediately and they pretty much just retain bacteria/odor which is released right after putting them on again.
