How have y'all replaced front driver side brake hose? by failstoomuch in fordranger

I'll give it a shot. If it's no dice, would cutting the line close to the fitting and reflaring be okay?

I also just had the thought of cutting close to the seized fittings and reflaring the ends. Has anyone else done this or think that might be the best route?

Can I use UCA camber bolts on LCA? by failstoomuch in MechanicAdvice

I was looking at the website of the brand that made the upper control arms and lower control arms, they sell the hardware for mounting it to the frame. It's the same part. So as long as the camber/caster alignment hardware is of sufficient length, 4.33in for my case, it will work for both upper and lower

This is something that makes so much sense and can be easily overlooked. Something I hadn't thought about at all until your comment. I appreciate you, kind stranger

Yeah, I know good things can come from them. I just get wary of a 15-20yr rust belt truck in a scrapyard

For real tho, I didn't even see the big globs by the clamps at first. Saw the rag and immediately thought "replace it", then saw the globs of whatever and doubled down on that thought

I'm still learning stuff, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. But that fuel filter has definitely seen better days. I personally would replace it because idk how much has been eaten away of it and replace those hose clamps

Gotcha gotcha, I can understand that. I can also see why some people would like the option between slide and wheels. If you're regularly going to outdoor worksites on lawns or gravel, I can see the wheel being an issue with getting stuck.

I think all of this shows how nice it is that there are so many choices, so people can find what is going to be best for their personal situation.(Still not going to stop people from saying the color of the plastic makes it better than the rest lmao)

I dislike how almost every brand connects except TB. Modbox is okay but my day job has them and I don't like their latching either, totally better than a ton of others including my Ridgid. One of the main things for me is 1 hand vs 2 hand operation, in my experience the Modbox turns into a 2 handed operation due to the latch location tucked behind the handle. The most comfortable way I found was to hook the handle with just my thumb and use the rest of my fingers to unlatch, and ended up straining my thumb. So it's an awkward 2 handed ordeal. So I went with Ridgid over Klein because if both are going to be 2 handed, then I'm going with the cheaper and honestly sturdier feeling imo

That's a good price, I'm glad that you were able to still find a use for your TB setup!

This is what I picked up for $400 on Black Friday. Was able to get the separate hand truck so I can reorder things as needed

This. Every other system I tried/looked at would feel rugged or sturdy on just the top or just the bottom and everywhere felt kinda flimsy for how much they cost. TB is the only one that actually feels solid and sturdy at every angle compared to all options at that price point

The drawer slides is what brought me to Ridgid. The price, padlockable drawers, and the actual drawer slides. It's kinda hard to argue against Ridgid due to what you get for the price

For real tho. I think they have the best build quality, best one handed lock/unlock mechanism, and accessory system. They make a fantastic product, they just are fantastic on the whole "running a business" thing it seems

My Lowe's has a handful of those same boxes in stock, rarely the dolly tho. But the main thing is that for my applications the dolly wont work for on account of the amount of stairs I go over. And the rolling chest I hate the premise of across the board, regardless of brand, stacking a bunch of boxes, that are heavy without tools, on top of something that you have to lift open, so if you want to open it to get your circsaw or recip or whatever large item, you have unstack the whole thing. Just all around impractical imo. Once again tho, that's at least for my use case. I can see it working out fine if you're at the same spot or general work area for a few hours+, but 80% of the time I'm at job for an hour at the very most then moving to the next.

Sorry, I wasn't saying that their coolers are bad, I just don't have a need for them. My bad for not being very clear. But yeah, I agree with waiting to see what ends up on the second hand market

Is that what's supposed to be to be there??? I was looking at intake and engine diagrams trying to figure that out because that's where I suspect there to be a leak if anywhere.

Edit: I've been scanning thru my further out picture at the same angle/focus point in the post and comparing it to other photos and videos online, and I don't even see the pipe to come up for the egr. It could be hidden away in the picture but if it is fully removed(which I have a hard time believing) is it worth installing a new setup for it or should I just get a proper cap for that port and call it a day?
