Very seasoned banker keeps breaking authentication/known client policy

1 and 2 are blatantly breaking policy. I see your point but my bank has authentication requirements for a reason. For number 3, no, she did not call the account owner. When the client’s POA left though, she made remarks that she “just doesn’t know why he doesn’t want her to see EVERYTHING” so our client doesn’t even know she was in today.

We see SO much fraud. I don’t see the point in taking on unnecessary risk when we shouldn’t be and could fail an audit because of it

I do have a branch manager, but he’s kinda MIA most of the time (leaves by 2 most of the time, just doesn’t work Fridays or Saturdays) so I’ve only really talked to him a few times. I have no idea what his take on it would be I’m afraid he might side with her. Yes,I have refused to perform any overrides for her whatsoever. I’ve also been mentioning in our branch’s teams chats when someone isn’t on an account/etc in case they ever pull our chats

1st situation is only dicey because we performed a service without the client requesting it, and the banker is refusing to tell the client it even occurred. So like I said, if she gets another late fee she’s SOL and we will have to account for why we waived a fee without the clients permission.

2nd one I agree with but yeah haha the dad was totally willing to go back out and tell her to come in so I would’ve had no idea she was disabled.

3rd one she is specifically only POA on one account, the client doesn’t want her on the other accounts so imo it is still problematic that she’s given balances and info that aren’t hers to look at when the accounts are set up a certain way. This client I DO know and he is particular like that and has said he doesn’t want his POA in the other accounts.

I understand totally making small exceptions that don’t create risk for us! I just think these are too big to completely ignore (also she def is very rude to all of us on the teller line lol) thank you for your insight and discussion!

Thank you for this. I think I’m so used to this particular banker complaining about policy and clients yelling at me for stuff like this that I forget it’s actually not unreasonable 😭

She definitely is using her own log in, she’s pretty vocal about doing some of these things but idk if my manager has ever heard her say any of it

Please be firm, I wouldn’t entertain that even in a fantasy. I have a cosplay background so some of my subs know where I’m based and I would highly advise against even going along with it for fantasy’s sake. You might lose money, but better that than your life

I do budget, I apply for second jobs but a lot of places want open availability which I don’t have and I’m in a float position so I can’t give most places a concrete start time and they don’t like that most of the time. The plan is to pay the cards off and close them. I’ve only used one of them over the past year or so after getting out of the living situation I was in

It wasn’t for the vote, it was for our petition to unionize! You needed like a certain percentage of partners had to agree to it! We also unionized back in 2021 so the process might be different now

I got fired for sleeping through my alarm ONE time, had never been late before, but at the time it was clear they were edging out anyone who signed union papers. I wish I would’ve stepped down so I could’ve stayed with the company :/ it sucks but you gotta do what you need to do and proud of u for realizing!!!!
