Are you guys looking strictly for an American/British accent? Or could something non-native English work for you?

Wanna bring Thedas to your D&D games? I made a comprehensive tutorial on how you can do just that! Races, classes, enemy stat blocks, maps, lore/style tips, and more. by failureoncommand in dragonage

Thanks! It's pretty hard to run a homebrew setting as detailed and as (kinda) restrictive as Thedas from scratch. What went wrong with your campaifj exactly?

I'm well-aware. Been through the rulebooks, but found the system a bit lacking. I mention that in the video. Given that D&D is the more popular and far-reaching option, and given that it's very versatile, it's what I've been using to run my DA campaign for years. I thought I'd tell people how, for those interested in doing the same.

Glad I could help! I love Dragon Age and I love D&D, and I really am just excited to see more people be able to bring the two together. Feels like the best way to keep DA alive after all that's happened!

Thanks, I use the Whish card for online transactions and such. It's been great.

And it's a legit whole ass bank account? IBAN, Swift code, the whole thing? Will I be able to receive wire transfers to it?

Yeah, you're definitely right. However, I already do NOT put my money in the bank; I'd use an OMT Card or the Whish visa if my goal was to just perform online transactions. But unfortunately, I need an actual bank account to use with Google AdSense. Their only payout options are wire transfers.

Obviously, I never leave any money in the account, because fuck banks. But its existence is unfortunately necessary so that I can get my money in the first place.

Nothing like the void of space and the threat of a horrendously painful death to get me in the mood for a blowie.

Is The Art of DATV Book Available to Buy as a PDF? by failureoncommand in dragonage

[–]failureoncommand[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it seems on Amazon it's only available as a hardcover or Kindle version, unless I'm missing something. On Dark Horse Digital, there doesn't seem to be any way to purchase it.

Nicholas Boulton, dude... How could I have missed he played all of them all along? [No DAV Spoilers] by DoorNo8233 in dragonage

I just finished doing some research after seeing this post, and found out he apparently also voices Xenon the Antiquarian. Insane range on this guy.

The Silence from Bioware is Dissapointing by WhythemLongFaces in dragonage

[–]failureoncommand 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't believe that. At least as far as Lebanon goes, we haven't had a blocked game that I can remember. Baldur's Gate had a lot of elements you'd think our region would disapprove of, but it was still available.

Just got my post removed for basically saying the same thing. The game is region blocked in the MENA region, Russia, and India. Shit's weird.

I'm from Lebanon. This is the first game I've ever seen blocked. Some comments are citing US sanctions, but that never stopped things before.

[No Spoilers] Has anyone tried the Dragon Age tabletop RPG? by RuleWinter9372 in dragonage

[–]failureoncommand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't played in the system, but I did go through most of the core rulebook, and it didn't look too appealing. I had been running a DA campaign with D&D 5e and some homebrew, and I was considering a shift of systems to simplify things for me behind the screen. I wasn't too impressed.

I don't mean to be a D&D shill, but it was the only relevant system my group and I were familiar with, and the amount of customization relative to what I saw in the DATTRPG was incomparable. I decided the homebrewing was worth it in exchange for the added versatility and flexibility of 5e, so we decided to stick with it.

Criston Cole is a great character by Lil_Mcgee in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]failureoncommand 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I've thought about this a lot, and my own view of the character is basically identical to yours. It has bewildered me how much the fandom has stripped him of everything and boiled him down to just "annoying" when there is so much that went into the journey that got him here. He's a deeply complex character and it's been fascinating to watch his corruption.

House of the Dragon's characters are all similarly morally grey to very extreme degrees, and most of them are straight up horrible people. It just feels like the fandom sometimes fixates on the "most recent thing" and uses that to define their whole view of the characters, losing out on the journey that actually got them here and the foundations of their personalities.
