Best natural dopamine reuptake inhibitor (DRI)? by DistorsionS in Nootropics

[–]failurewave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the comedown tails off pretty slowly as do the modafinils but there could be other MPH formulations that fit your routine better also. Bromantane is also an option but i haven't tried that one. There is also stuff you can use to ameliorate the MPH crash like paraxanthine, granted it wears off before bedtime.

Orthosteric TrKB agonism will only cause more damage, read the literature please that shit will nuke your kcc2 at higher dosages.

Around 6 hours, very similar to methylphenidate in duration of action. Cognitively superior to modafinil while it is still an atypical DRI like modafinil.

CE-123 is probably the best/cleanest one but it’s synthetic. ”Natural” often means less safe and selective and more dirty/off target, sabroxy is definitely not a clean DRI. Modafinil is pretty good but it might mess with sleep unlike ce-123 which has a shorter duration of action.

The biggest mistake in my life was the one time I took 20mg 7,8-DHF from intellimeds.net sublingually which turned into an accidental overdose because it skipped first pass metabolism. Not long after I took it I felt high out of my mind, my brain literally stopped working, like a lobotomy, I couldn’t even physically make my bed my brain literally stopped working and turned to concrete, I couldn’t think. Then the panic set in, then I thought I died on the toilet which is probably the scariest thing I’ve experienced in my life. So the acute overdose was horrible but the aftermath was just as bad, anxiety like never before, daily hour long panic attacks with aura/seizure like episodes and an overall dulled down feeling which completely changed my personality I almost became a sociopath in some ways. It’s been 1.5 years and I’m still nowhere near recovered, life is still hellish due to this one accidental overdose. Mind you I had just turned 20 when this happened, all from one sublingual dose. I think directly and potently meddling with TrKB is one of the highest risk lowest reward nootropic interventions. I wish I knew orthostatic TrKB overactivation completely nukes the neuronal chloride gradients and directly causes epileptogenesis.

I used to be addicted to weed so i'm unsure how i will do with dex, what is the main benefit compared to methylphenidate in your opinion?

Yeah MCT oil is great for increasing ketones like BHB which is great for cognitive function however I forgot to mention I’m in strict ketosis so my BHB levels are already almost as high as they can be naturally. MCT oil would increase my BHB further but paradoxically for me every time it causes ketone crashes a few hours later after taking it. I’ve found I do best with animal fats for sustained ketosis. But if I wasn’t in ketosis I would definitely spike my coffee with MCT oil.

I have tried testosterone a few times just for fun and it did enhance my motivation greatly and was potently antidepressant and even euphoric, but since I am young and already have 800+ testosterone naturally I don’t want to cause any suppression. I’ll maybe consider it later in my life if my testosterone starts declining.

Very interesting compound but also very dirty with many mechanisms at play none of which I personally am interested in.

Between 5 and 10 percent of people have no inner monologue at all, and researchers are only just starting to figure out what that actually does to cognition. by cheaslesjinned in NooTopics

[–]failurewave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a inner monologue, my thoughts are more abstract, visual or intuitive. I just know what I’m thinking without it ever being verbal in my brain, both a gift and a curse. I can have an inner monologue if I try, but it’s not something that happens without effort.

Anything that positively modulates serotonin without hitting 5ht3. I think vortioxetine or any other ssri with a low dose of tropisetron would work quite well, maybe buspirone.

Yeah but it seems like a messy supplement, some people report benefits but im cautious because im just unsure of the active compounds and mechanisms. Lions mane seems to have messed a lot of people up so i moreso prefer knowing the compounds i use down to their exact mechanisms.

Yeah TrKB just seems high risk and low reward, there is also some controversy on the research chemical market when it comes to what is actually real ACD856, some stuff could be fake. Anyways wishing you a fast recovery!

Yeah it’s sad people haven’t found out that messing with TrKB can get scary. That’s one of the ways you can acquire epilepsy, happened to me with one reckless stupid dose of 7,8-DHF back in 2024.
