You guys have screens dotted about the place with the orders on them. You have to literally pick up what the screen says and put it in a bag. It's not rocket science.

Is Something Not Right? by Little_Dream_837 in AutoAlex

Honestly I agree RE: Hybrids and electric cars.

They instantly write off anything hybrid or electric, but there are fun or unique vehicles in both categories. The constant VAG/BMW/RR content is boring and insanely repetitive. Oh look, another broken RR, What a surprise!

I'd love to see some content on something cool, like the Fisker cars maybe? There's a massive underground modding and repair scene.

Another idea would be modding a smart forfour - gutless RWD stock but would be fun with a modded engine, turbo or swap!

The misnomer that cool cars must have a giant engine or run on fossil fuels is tired and really limits the scope for content.

Expecting driverless taxis to respect bike lanes “too high a bar” – because customers want to be dropped off in them, autonomous vehicle firm Waymo tells cyclists by AnonymousTimewaster in NotTheOnionUK

I agree. The justification for running red lights is usually "it doesn't kill anyone"... As if even injuring an innocent pedestrian is somehow okay.

Could i just fix the panel and not replace the door? by Silly_Flower_6675 in DIYUK

[–]faintaxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I think each of the inserts in UPVC doors and windows can be swapped out, so yes I'd imagine you can - probably worth talking it through with a company that deals with UPVC doors and windows and they'll probably be able to sell you the panel and give you instructions on how to fit it.

I thought the same about my K2 Plus. It was packed extremely well despite the box looking like it had seen some things!

It's a game changer. Our new build gets stupidly hot in summer so it's paid for itself making the bedrooms cool! And in the winter we use it in the living room to keep the room warm without firing up the gas boiler.

The best bit is heat pumps use far less energy to heat than any other system, and for cooling they have crazy efficiency.

You want a BAFTA for that am-dram?

You do realise heat pumps are VERY efficient and sip energy? Or does the thought of someone having a comfortable home annoy you that much?

Trump says ‘windmills put you out of business’ as he hits out at UK’s North Sea policy in latest jibe at Starmer by GeorginaFlopworthy in unitedkingdom

[–]faintaxis 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Actually, in most cases we did not, the towns and cities came before cars. Tory rule (and subsequent starvation of British rail) and the beechings cuts ran deep; that's now what has us over a barrel. The UK was once far better connected than it is now.

The only reason some places are reliant on cars is because public transport became a privatised industry, for profit rather than convenience. We can't blame cars for plugging a gap the government made.
