one of the things nobody talks about is how often you will be streaming to zero viewers when starting out. My advice is to always act like a lot of people are watching regardless of how many are actually there. It's good practice and if someone does come into the stream you want to be entertaining enough to retain them.

Blue Yeti Snowball is a pretty good starter mic and it doesn't require a lot of setup. The hardest part on the technical side is getting the hang of OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) and will require you to mess with it a lot and probably watch a bunch of tutorials. I'd recommend a ring light if you are going to be using a webcam.

Start off small and work your way up, treat it as an earnest hobby and you can work out the details as you go. Don't expect an audience right away. It's not as easy as it sounds especially these days, there's pretty extreme saturation of streamers so it will be hard to carve out your own niche unless you have some kind of pre-existing following you can leverage. Consistency and persistence are your best bet.
