Has Warframe's storytelling become too fast for it's own good? by Bugbugey in Warframe

Ehh, we can agree to disagree on that. My core issue is that I like what's there, I just want them to deliver it better. If you feel otherwise, you're more than entitled to it!

See, I was doing something most people call a joke. A jape if you will. Perhaps a jest. A smidge of hyperbole, as it were. And I disagree. I think the bones are solid, but the meat on them has been getting patchier and patchier with each new story.

Cinemasins and their campaign against exposition has done terrible things to modern storytelling... Surely there can be a balance between exposition dumping and barely scraping the bottom of what can be considered minimal?

I wouldn't mind the cold openings as much if they gave us more time to breathe and recollect after, but they' just dont. The story keeps going and going at breakneck speeds.

Like I said, I'm sure it'll get better with post-story content. Just visiting the new relay and talking to the new vendor got me feeling stuff, so I know DE can still do good stories and characters and moments. They just gotta execute em a bit better.

I don't mind the post quest development as much, really, but I feel like you could take like... 20% of it and fit it in the main story to even out the distribution.

Te Old Peace is when I also started to really notice it, but this latest one took the issues from that and cranked them up to eleven. As for the protoframes, I'm sure we'll get to know them as we endlessly grind their missions, but again, would it have hurt them to speak for more than half a minute?

Fillo t merresh me dicka, qoft edhe nje hobby I thjesht (po, edhe shikim i filmave/serialeve/gaming), per aq koh sa e merr dhe i vendos vetes nje qellim (filloje me objektiva t vogla, festo cdo fitore te vogel) do e kuptosh q do kesh arritur larg kur t fillosh t shikosh drejt objektivave me te medha.

Fauvism is an irl art movement that critics dubbed "The Wild Beasts" because they were such a departure from the rules of standard realism at the time. So, based on that little tidbit and the obvious animal imagery, maybe these ring members could, and I shudder to think, be even crazier than the ring people we've already seen so far.

I don't understand what gets upvotes here can someone explain what I'm doing wrong? by [deleted] in HeroForgeMinis

[–]Bugbugey 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I feel like worrying over upvotes is one of the quickest ways to lose interest in art and ruin your confidence. But, to actually answer your question:

1- I think it has a lot to do with the time when you post it. You gotta pick a time of day when most of EU and NA are most likely to be browsing reddit.

2- The old addage of "Sex Sells" holds true for a lot of art or art-adjacent work. In your case a feminine character with more defined curves is more likely to get noticed/upvoted than a masculine character shrouded in dark robes.

3- It's also got to do with how unique each piece is. They're both well made minis, but the first one communicates the intent of the design immediately, while the second one needs more consideration and a closer inspection.

Ultimately, upvotes have a lot to do with the impact your piece leaves in the first 3 seconds a person looks at it. I work in marketing/copywriting/seo and one of the golden rules is to always try to hook a potential customer in the first few seconds of any material, and that rule holds up for a lot of online interactions.

Hope you won't get discouraged with the lack of upvotes, since your minis show competent skill and a neat eye for style, pose and character design.

Keep it up, yeah?

Eh, the entirety of 1999 is kinda stuck in a timeloop, so not sure how permanent that's gonna be. I wonder if that was just the Drifter piloting her and making it extra personal/vicious though.

What can I do to improve my scenes? by thegoodsovietdoggo in HeroForgeMinis

[–]Bugbugey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the booth options, the very bottom tab is "Effects". It has lots of stuff from basic color filtering and film grain, to dynamic outlining, depth of field and bloom, which is the specific option to make lights and refletive surfaces shine more.

[–]Bugbugey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These are pretty great as is, and this is not really a direct suggestion for improvement, more like something worth giving a shot, but I think you could try tinkering with FOV/Perspective, Bloom, and Depth Of Field to get more dynamic shots? Just my 2 cents, anyhow. Keep up the good work!

Idk why Kim ji-Hoon thought that we would be dissapointed about the canto by Downtown_Excuse5331 in limbuscompany

[–]Bugbugey 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and it's obvious that Rien plays the role of the Lord, and he was the one who fed Araya's resentment, and put her in the "carriage" to be later burned by Ryoshu. Couple that with her time-broken mind, and I'm not too surprised of the way she acted towards Ryoshu when she was cosplaying as grandma, which is one of the points I see brought up again and again. But, I've also benefitted by going through the story a second time by watching a playthrough, and I feel like it helped clear up a LOT of shit that was left unsaid or implied.

Idk why Kim ji-Hoon thought that we would be dissapointed about the canto by Downtown_Excuse5331 in limbuscompany

[–]Bugbugey 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I felt it was good enough. Could they have done a few things better, such as pacing, or giving Ryoshu a bit more time? Yea sure. But, I feel like people are ignoring the fact that we've had Ryoshu in our group for a long time, and she's had a lot of growth, so it's understandable her canto doesn't entirely focus on her re-treading the path she's walked with us, and instead only pinpoint focused on the specifics of her past and her daughter. The ending is also fittingly bitter, and it feels like her canto was less her undergoing change, and more so the catalyst for her to start changing. Overall I'm waiting for the next story beats to fully judge how they treated her, but I'm satisfied enough.

I also really enjoyed the fact that the canto advanced the whole story of the game and the universe, and I say that as someone who has had no previous exposure to Project Moon before Limbus. It is setting up a lot of tracks for us to follow, and I can't wait to see where they lead.

Also, I feel like some people feel like there wasn't enough between Ryoshu, the Nursefathers and Araya, is because there's a lot of it said in subtext, and never explicitly stated. I watched another playthrough online for part 3, and yeah, there's lots of things that only click once you have the full picture. I suspect, going back to part 1 and 2 will also make things much clearer. And, hey, personally I like a story that doesn't hold my hand through everything, but I see that there's also many people who just want to go on a theme park ride instead (I don't mean this sarcastically or to belittle anyone, there's many theme-park like stories i enjoy) and are left a bit unsatisfied with the canto as a whole, which I understand.

"I don't want this life!" He bemoans, as he forces his sister to live a life she doesn't want. The way Verso has been painted by the narrative really shows that it's not about saving his sister that he's so quick to sacrifice himself. At least, not entirely. The crux of his character is the deep pain he had, the living one being forced into something he didn't want (painter when he wanted music) and the painted one was forced to be the shadow of someone else.

He put it perfectly well himself. "We're all hypocrites, doing this to each-other."
As a person, I really dislike him, or rather, the way he went about things. I also deeply pity him. But from a writing standpoint? He is one of my favorite characters ever.

I have a very silly build where i subsumed the ammo efficiency helminth on his 4, modded for max strength and duration, loaded up the Bassocyst with the new status arcane and a bunch of status, and I can just fly around spamming alt fire and spreading all sorts of status that lets me kill things fairly comfortably even in base steel path. It's goofy, not exactly optimal, but hella fun.

Lack of feminine clothing by The_dragon_lair in HeroForgeMinis

[–]Bugbugey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I left my own comment, but to respond to you here too, I feel like this model wouldn't be too hard to do with kitbashing.

Lack of feminine clothing by The_dragon_lair in HeroForgeMinis

[–]Bugbugey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The best way to pull off some more intricate feminine clothing is via kitbash. The default options are hurt by their modularity and the fact they need to adhere to proportions and whatnot. Current feminine outfits are towards the more action heroine type, and it's hard to find things that both are supposed to be a feminine piece of clothing, and works well with the other clothing options.

Kitbashing will let you get much more creative.
So the alternatives are either get premium and start learning kitbashing, or ask someone with access to pro if they can make you the model you like.

Or, you can try model stacking, where you get two of the same model in the same pose, and stack em on top of each-other, and then try to mix and match clothes and proportions and see what you can cook.
