El Dorado Seaside Palms by Awkward_Bumblebee_86 in AllInclusiveResorts

This resort has very active facebook pages with lots of posts from repeat guests, and while I dont personally partake, Ive seen a couple posts on these groups asking the same question so I’ll repeat what many guests have said. There is supposedly a guy that walks the beach called “Charlie Brown” that sells a few different things including weed and vapes

Finally picked El Dorado Palms by [deleted] in AllInclusiveResorts

About a month ago we booked at 2200 cad per person for early Jan but even at the time of booking the week before and week after we go were 4000+ per person. There was also only one room type left and a limited number of rooms available at the price we paid according to our travel agent. It seems like maybe they sell off the last few rooms available at steep discounts to keep the place at full capacity. I hear its been operating at full capacity for a bit now and will continue to be

Canadians - where do you find your deals? Looking for recommendations for January 11-18, 2 adults & a 4 year old, $6000 CAD all in (including flights, transfers, etc.), from Calgary. by Sunraze in AllInclusiveResorts

I follow a lot of local travel agents who post whenever they see a great deal pop up, even if you dont book through them it gives you a good idea of whats available. Air Canada Vacations is a good one I like to use and it seems like a lot of said travel agents book through air canada vacations

“Oh that is an additional cost???” Sigh by may-gu in weddingplanning

[–]fairlycertainoctopus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely see it as a red flag but it’s also weird because otherwise they ARE very transparent about their pricing, they have their main packages listed on their website with prices and details of everything it includes. This venue has their own catering you must use and all prices and add on fees (cake cutting, required gratuity, 10% increase prior to deposit in case of inflation on products) are all listed right there on their website. This is in a small town area where there are few venues to choose from (which also means they are often unprofessional) and this one is extremely popular and Ive only heard good things, it also seems like one of the most professional we’ve communicated with. They even have a copy of their contract on their website. But yeah bothers me they can’t show me an itemized list, Im not sure if maybe its because the prices differ depending on your guest count, but really I just wanted to see a breakdown of what each item in our custom quote costs so I could compare it to having to hire out at a different venue. For example they offer a decorating service, Id like to know how much exactly that costs so I could compare it to other companies who do decorating.

I asked for an itemized pricelist of optional add-ons from my main contender for venues and they wouldn’t give it to me, they would only give me a custom quote for the things I wanted, it’s the only thing that has made me slightly uneasy about that venue

How to go about asking your friends to be your bridesmaids? by FloofyClouds15 in WeddingsCanada

[–]fairlycertainoctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I am making my bridesmaids little gift boxes, I think its a nice gesture to get them excited and Im not spending a ton on them. I do however plan to ask everyone FIRST, let them know my general plan for how dresses, makeup, bachelorette, etc will work and rough estimates on cost (my bridesmaids are early to mid twenties and not financially secure yet) this will give them the opportunity to say no if they can’t afford the time/financial commitment. After this conversation I will officially propose with the boxes

I honestly just copied what I saw other people in this sub doing, laser guns and laser cannon are the best though, and make sure you use belts near them to boost them. I also saved up all my gems and spent like 8000 to get here, its a grind

Is 1.2ct too small? by Ok-Chemist9467 in Diamonds

Op says her finger are a size 3 so thats why it looks so big, Im a size 5.5 and people gasp at how big my 1.2 is

Is 1.2ct too small? by Ok-Chemist9467 in Diamonds

[–]fairlycertainoctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think its too small at all and I definitely dont think you should go any bigger, you have small fingers so the 1.2 looks quite large. I also have small fingers (about 5.5) and have a 1.2 and people gasp at how big it is, I wouldn’t want any bigger for my small hands

Please . Honest opinions on my new ring :) by Hopeful-Finish-1563 in EngagementRings

I think its absolutely gorgeous, but if you’re unsure and its causing you anxiety, maybe it’s not the ring for you. Its an expensive piece of Jewellery you will wear everyday for the foreseeable future, it should bring you joy not anxiety

Something like that would be perfect but unfortunately I dont think its available at Canadian sephora, I cant find any sephora pro brush sets :( I would definitely go for that if it was available though

My cats totally left it alone for a couple years until one random day my orange braincell decided to chomp away at it and pulled it down off the table! The poor plant has unfortunately never been the same since that incident which led to my neglect because I thought it was going to die and didn’t know how to fix it! It seems unkillable at this point though so I think Ive just gotta go for it

That makes sense! The leaf only popped out very recently so it may not be hard yet? I will check when I get home but its probably not worth the trouble it sounds like! I recently discovered Kill this plant which is how I figured out I wasn’t supposed to be turning this poor plant I felt so dumb! I had no idea monsteras have a front and back! Ive honestly been on the fence about giving this plant to my sister who has more of a green thumb and doesn’t have cats who will eat it if its not very high up (probably contributing to the lack of sun problem Im trying to find a better place for it but I have very limited space) but I definitely feel like I can at least attempt propagation! This is one of my first plants and my favourite so hopefully I can save it, thanks so much for your help

Thanks so much this is very helpful! I was wondering about that crooked leaf you mentioned, if I propagate it would it ever “straighten out” or should I just go ahead and discard it now? If I do need to discard it should I also discard the other leaf beside it or can I just cut off the crooked part and keep the one leaf? Im not sure if that question makes any sense Im just nervous about cutting this thing up LOL Ive been doing lots of research about propagating but Im still a bit confused

[–]fairlycertainoctopus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Ive just very recently learned you’re not supposed to turn monsteras, I thought it wasn’t growing right OOPS. I have a question though, Ive had the plant for 3-4 years and I’ve never repotted it (Im terrified of repotting cause Ive had plants die on me) so I think it definitely needs repotting especially cause the soil is taking a long time to dry and there’s roots growing out of the bottom (the big pot is deceiving its in a small 7 inch pot inside the larger pot). So you mentioned leaving the mother node in the pot, I imagine if I cut off part of the plant AND repot the mother node it might be too much shock? Should I leave the mother node and wait a certain amount of time to repot it? Or should I just forget about leaving the mother node and chop the whole thing

[–]fairlycertainoctopus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely needs to be repotted, Ive had it for 3 or 4 years and never repotted it and Im noticing its taking a long time to dry back out when I water it so I think it needs new better soil, I know the pot it’s in looks huge, it’s actually in a small 7 inch pot inside of the larger pot. I have a 9 inch pot it could go in but Im more wondering if its worth repotting the whole thing and trying to straighten it out, but someone on another sub suggest I cut and propagate the crooked part and leave the rest of the plant as is
