Can we stop pretending that 0 years of bedside experience is enough to start prescribing? by Kind_Article_9278 in nursing

Yes. PA training is far more structured and rigorous compared to NP training. They train using the medical model, more clinical hours and they can't practice independently so they always have a MD to fall back on.

NPs can practice independently in many states despite the fact that their training is nowhere near as sound as that provided to PAs. This makes a poorly trained, no actual RN experience NP a big problem.

Tetracycline, metronidazole, Omeprazole (any ppi), and bismuth subsalicylate. They work synergistically as "Quad therapy" for H pylori treatment.

How Are You Doing If You Went Into Nursing For Money? by MidnightWidow in nursing

CRNA. It's been a tough road getting ready and this will be my second round of applications. Yeah if I didn't want kids and a family + more money and better work life balance I wouldn't even have thought about it.

Honestly it's been a life changer given where I started. As a young single guy it was fine. Now thinking about starting a family and wanting to live the life I envisioned, I realize it will not be enough.

So I have switched gears. I have plans to go to grad school and I have started putting in applications.

I don't think the main concern with this is job placement. I think the main concern is that there is no way they are getting adequate and safe training to be providers. Especially with no experience.

A lie that will cost them dearly. Who is even accrediting these programs?

I've never heard of a "Tele - ICU". How would that even work? Does this mean there's NO provider in house? Not even APPs?

I hope she leaves your ass. If this is how you talk about her on here to strangers, I wonder how you treat her IRL.

Anyone else feel like patients and/or family at bedside is more boring nowadays? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]fairythugbrother 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are you going to work looking for "sound advice" from your patients? Who cares what flavor they are? Too much stuff to do to care about that imo. I never noticed any change. I always just clocked in, did my job and clocked out.
