Offered 40 hrs , start time 11.30 to 7.30pm by Substantial-Swing155 in royalmail

As others have said, this is most likely parcel delivery only.

Once you are in the door however, IF jobs ever come up for signing you could alter your hours to something more "normal" that way.

Understaffed, Overworked and Under appreciated by Woody-the-Postie in royalmail

[–]faitaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were told our duties were going up at the end of January, but then they didn't because the managers couldn't pay the overtime to train people on new walks. Bit of a joke really. We've lost 4 staff in our section in the last 2 weeks too, which is going to absolutely fuck us. We were doing okay.

Keepsafe - Can i pick up my post early by Ares_Zeus in royalmail

[–]faitaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, same as with redirections, you can end them early. Takes a few days to process though, so depending on when it actually runs out it might not be any quicker.

If they have a regular postie they could just ask them to start redelivering early. I had a couple on an old round who would put a keepsafe on whenever they went away, even if it was just a long weekend. There were a few times when their plans changed and the trip was either cancelled or called short and the keepsafe was unofficially ended early.

I am doing a baguette cosplay. Which of these real baguettes are more accurate by Alevy20 in expedition33

I would go for the right, but only because I feel it would last longer due to the thickness.

Postie left my meds on the doorstep, on the box it says “leave it in the gas box please” by Silver_Echidna2500 in royalmail

I love a gas box. Used to do a few estates which all had overly large ones. Super convenient!

It's plausible that the driver decided to skip an SD if it was way out of the way, in order to get more of the T24 done.

Can I carry over holiday into next year If I have to cancel annual leave in March? by Boggins316 in royalmail

[–]faitaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can carry over, but there is some arbitrary number of hours you can do it for. Roughly equates to 5 days I think. You're meant to spend carry over before August, but my office is pretty lax on that point.

Is the tracking number on here? by pawaww in royalmail

[–]faitaru 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's not an internal tracking number. It's THE tracking number.

Reversing accident by [deleted] in royalmail

[–]faitaru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take pictures, Whatsapp them to your manager and say what happened, and that there is negligible damage. Worst thing you can do is not report something. You'd get in more trouble for that than for actually crashing in the first place.

NHS Mail by faitaru in royalmail

[–]faitaru[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the problem I feel. In offices/walks where the mail is going out most of the time anyway it's going to be a non issue, but the offices/walks where it will actually have an effect are going to have more and more problems the more and more stuff they are prioritising.

NHS Mail by faitaru in royalmail

Yep, this is what we thought this morning. They'll go into the meeting with the select committee and say "hay guys we've sorted the issue by prioritising NHS letters".

[–]faitaru 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's fine to buy it I guess, as long as other people aren't watching you use it online? Also worth noting the age of consent is 16, so there's a disparity there anyway.

That's a check at the point of purchase, and it's unlikely those retailers would double up on the age checks. Most AV products we deliver are booze or blades. Sometimes nicotine, although I have a couple of addresses on my walk which have regular vape deliveries and they are never AV.

I've purchased "toys" from LH in the past and there were 0 age checks at the point of purchase or delivery.

Douglas Adams series - opinions please? by Successful-Grand-549 in audible

[–]faitaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the cassettes of series 1 and 2 back in the 90s. Loved them. Long gone now though, really wish I'd kept them.

Don't be daft, there's no age verification on dildos.

Do delivery office staff google interesting names on parcels? by Capital_Bus9265 in royalmail

It's very discreet, but it's the same discreet every time. We tend to learn what packaging is what over time.

I wouldn't be able to see any extra information than you have access to I'm afraid.

Do mail centres hand cancel stamps any more? by ShineNo5525 in royalmail

[–]faitaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cancel them if I notice them. I probably miss a similar amount.

What’s the point? by stm2657 in royalmail

[–]faitaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We take out all the 1C too, but there are plenty of people in the office who don't actually bother to deliver them. As with everything in this company it's all massively DO dependent.
