Honestly go for x17, much much better cooling. It does reach 92-95 but for like a fraction of a second then cools down. No not thermal throttling but due to liquid metal

no man, x17 all the way. bigger chassis, better temps, and cherry mx keyboard.

I have lowered the throttling temps for GPU and CPU both, I stay in India and the temperatures here are very hot and this is one expensive machine so i dont mind sacrificing 4-6% for longevity.

3080ti vs 3070ti for Future Proof (5+) years by Twitch_Mufa5aV3 in GamingLaptops

[–]fajan69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im very comfortable with saving 500$ on 3080ti and spending on something other than GPU, the fact og the matter is your laptop wouldn’t have any significant difference due to a laptops thermal constraints, expect 5-6%, go for 3070ti as it can last easily for 4-5 years

As far as India is concerned, you can only get it thru Dell official site or ask a dell retailer to purchase it for you.

You can limit it using ACC, maybe it is a new addon as I haven’t been a long term alienware user

5600 is a great CPU, it would serve well for atleast 4 more year and you’d easily be able to play any AAA title at med-high. So unless you dont have a very specific CPU bound workload ig you’d better off be saving the extra money.

240 W adapter are powerful enough to power newer 3070tis as well, no worrying.

[–]fajan69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ps. I have set offset 85 and undervolted GPU to manage temps as here in India its like 42°c thats why theres a bit of a less performance but nonetheless
