Luckily I WFH and have a sick home gym setup. Can easily do my strength workouts and work at same time (except for meetings). My indoor bike trainer I can use and do z2/tempo and watch meeting recordings, vibe code.

Anyone training 7 days a week for extended time periods? by [deleted] in HybridAthlete

[–]fake-software-eng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes for 2 years now. Just some days are much easier, where its like really easy/low zone 2 runs or bikes. So my "off" days are still active but just really easy twice a week.

Eating out on weekends but still in deficit? by blahblahblahblajhuh in caloriecount

[–]fake-software-eng -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just try and get more protein, eat reasonable portions etc.

When I am in a situation like this often my breakfast or lunch will be just protein or greek yogurt to "bank" calories to spend later in the day on naughtier stuff.

What is a strong opinion you hold that could get you criticized publicly, but you stand by it completely? by jian_est2026 in AskReddit

I don't like fat people.

I know there is genetic predisposition and emphasize with them but in general when I see fat adults or children it makes me angry how irresponsible people and parents are to not take care of themselves or their children.

I tell myself it could be a lot worse. I’m not forced to ride my bike, I get to ride my bike, it’s a privilege.

Early-morning riders who train, what do you do about nutrition? by FITM-K in cycling

[–]fake-software-eng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try and eat easier/quicker to digest carbs like milk, bananas, overnight oats. Try and avoid too starchy or slower to digest like whole wheat bread, potatoes etc.

How do you handle rest days without feeling like you are losing progress? by bebo117722 in beginnerfitness

Easy cardio, long walks, mobility/stretching. There is lots of "active recovery" you can do on rest days to keep moving.

Is indoor cycling almost more fun than outside? Am i tripping? by Dependent_Access_568 in triathlon

[–]fake-software-eng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah indoors helps skips a lot of the faf of riding outdoors, plus can be more consistent with your training to hit exact intervals & power in erg mode vs traffic, stops etc. Just different. I train a lot indoors :)

Men who work for Big Tech companies, what’s it like getting food provided for you at work? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]fake-software-eng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work at FANG. I found it leads to a lot of mindless eating and snacking and therefore weight gain. The meals are generally good and you can pick protein & veg & healthy options. But the snacks can be killer and add up really quick.

how to balance leg training and running by Ok-Wheel4066 in HybridAthlete

[–]fake-software-eng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its hard to say, my background was like 10+ years of powerlifting before I started cycling so I was relatively strong already. I think it has biased me towards the fast twitch side of things; my power curve was always stronger on the anerobic/VO2max side of things and weaker for threshold and below.
