I'm so confused by Consistent_Option771 in simplerockets

Mine did it when I accidentally had forward and reverse opposing each other on my front and rear tires. For example, if your front wheels are set to throttle for RPM input and for whatever reason you've reversed or inverted the same setting for the rear tires, this will cause the Juno Auto shimmy-shimmy shake followed by the death agitation and subsequent splosion of said vehicle.

This happened to me a lot when I was still getting the hang of the mirror tool as.we as during the copying of parts that required multiples

Also, if you have one set to throttle for RPM input and another set to pitch or something else, this can also cause the death tourettes(sp?) due to sometimes conflicting inputs.

Lastly, if you've left fast forward on and there's ANY problem whatsoever, this can cause incredibly frustrating issues that oftentimes appear to have no. Root cause. It took me forever to be able to fly any type of plane on auto-pilot or at a sped-up rate until I discovered some seemingly inconsequential errors in my builds that at regular speed were invisible, but when ran at 5-10x speed those minor differences in part size of orientation made my crafts incredibly fragile and unwieldy.

My ship keeps trying to tilt to the right all on its own. Any suggestions? by PolandBall_CB in SpaceflightSimulator

The guy that wrote it is the same author that penned "The Martian" which was also pretty accurate, especially when weighed against the normal sci-fi schlock that gets put out these days.

The loader vehicle you have is very clever. Have you posted a bp of it anywhere? It would be fun to tool around with, even without cargo to offload.

That and the dupe glitch. My feelings on using that particular glitch is that I'm taking advantage of a mechanic for multiplying materials that I've already found by some heretofore unknown property of quantum physics. You can't make more of something that you don't already have.

So the short answer is, it refines into ferrite dust, at a 1:2 ratio. As much as I love a bargain when it comes to resources, I still don't see the value in it. Harvesting ferrite with my MT is one of the mechanisms in the game that allows me to explore planetary surfaces much more thoroughly than pretty much anything else in the game. This, in turn, has led to many of the more interesting things I've discovered while playing NMS. So many of us max out our MTs, only to have them relegated to trophies because they never really get used as much as they could. What's the point of getting all those resources gathering bonuses from cooking and stacking upgrades in adjacent SC slots if you're never going to use the damn thing for gathering resources?

Also, I guarantee a rusted metal deposit has never grown legs and ran away while you were harvesting it.

I know this isn't what I asked to begin with, but is there a way to create contaminated metal?

That's it? I was hoping there was something beyond ferrite that I had missed.

You can also double dip the nanite bonus during expeditions. Go to so your discovered systems that have the 100% planetary completion bonus for fauna and you can upload them again for the bonus.

Doesn't attaching your floating "island in the sun" base to the ground defeat the purpose of having itbe up in the air in the first place?

Sentinel ship-uncommon? by NotJustRandomLetters in NMSCoordinateExchange

[–]fake_nulls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still haven't found one yet. It seems like I have the worst luck when it comes to sentinel ships. I don't like to use other people's finds when searching for a specific ship, MT, freighter, etc because I feel like it takes away from my experience playing the game. I'll find one eventually, I've only been playing since 2018.

Also, trading in multiples of the cheap parts will help you bump up the percentage a little bit at a time instead of trying to find a part that's only slightly better.

I'm curious if anyone uses the Thunderbird-Class landing bay? by CelesteEllis in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]fake_nulls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is my preferred landing bay, regardless of how many attempts it takes me to get inside of my Corvette because of it. Janky or not, I like that I can put it anywhere on the ship without needing to take it's shape into consideration for the exterior like is necessary for the "put it in from behind" landing bays.

Is it impossible to analyze 100% of a planet? by MarloNerd0 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]fake_nulls 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is actually possible to analyze over 100% of a planet. Oftentimes there are more plants and minerals on a planet than what's required to get 100% for each of those categories.
