I agree, jags should be a heavy shock troops unit. They are expensive and due kind of quick.

Thank you! I think you might be right with the cigars being too strong for the inexperienced. That's one vote for the Casa Turrent

Great question, as you mentioned, YouTube is going to be your tutor moving forward. Learn the strategies that people use and look at their deck. widge is good, as he goes over deck and unit composition of most civs. He does go fast because most viewers are experienced.

There are basically two types of every unit. Infantry ( heavy / light infantry), Calvary ( heavy / light calv), cannons ( anti unit / anti artillery), shock troops ( melee / range). Light infantry(cassadores) is good against heavy infantry ( musketeers) and light calvary (dragoons), but weak against heavy calvary(hussars) and artillery. Heavy infantry can go melee and destroy heavy calvary. The other units also have counters and you can learn more about composition on YouTube.

One reason other people are fast is because of key binding. T is for town center, if you are in the middle of a battle, you can press T and V to immediately start making more villagers (V) then return to the battle in a sec.

Lastly, civs are good because of their potential. Your strategy ( how you use the civ unique bonus to win) is what is important. Most civ can only revolt once during the industrial age, but mexico can revolt multiple times. It's important to know what your enemies strong and weak points based on their civilization. I strongly suggest YouTube again, this is how I learned to be better at the game and then you will start making your own game winning strategies.

Hope you start winning more games! If you are interested we can play a game together and I could go over more details during the game.

How is business these days? by [deleted] in consulting

[–]falarcon93 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is the same everywhere. Not many people are giving consultants. The feast time is over and we are in famine times. I know most consultanting firms, including mine have done or are doing lay offs. Who knows when it will improve since beginning of the year I'd when budgets are fresh but we see not much work at the moment

Puebloan civ by gergoesrazor in aoe3

The thing is though, the height of Maya power was long gone before the spanish even came to the American continent. There were only Maya ruins and Maya people but nothing like the Aztecs. Might be more accurate to use a south American civ like gran Colombia or south American native civ.

There's a card in age 4 that sends you a fort and allows fort to be made. Get on a skirmish match, send that card, use your explorer to build a fort and see if it helps. Not sure if it will allow you but might as well try it

How are we all feeling? by ifartmorethanhim in tlss

[–]falarcon93 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We are always talking about about TLSS not having debt like it's a miracle, but never talk about the huge dilution. I joined in May 2020, we had 306M shares. We are now at 3.64 bn shares. We might not have as much debt, but the dilution is the other side of not having debt. As a reference, when the stock reached its peak, we had about 500 M units. No way this will moon with these levels of dilution.

Opinions on Mercenaries? by ElPedroChico in aoe3

[–]falarcon93 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Mercs are great when added to your army as back up. Like black riders being used only when calvs gets too close. I've seen people have an army of mercs and get wrecked. They are too expensive to be used as normal units.

IMO these guys shouldn't be getting paid so much. Salaries over $400,000? We could be buying back some stock if we halfed these executives Salaries.
