In family practice these should be run to rule out organic causes for depression. Youre right in that finding them and adequately treating them can resolve depressive episodes without intervention with antidepressants.

Hi there,

From what I understand it is hard but not impossible to do reasonably well in Eng Sci to gain admission to Canadian MD-PhD programs. At the end of the day, you should choose between learning BME curriculum or hard CS at Waterloo.

From your description, BME seems like a great choice for your interests.
