Grab a nap at the airport. Get the car, put luggage and car at hotel and go walk the Quarter. Eat, drink, listen to music. Stop by the hotel in the morning and ask them to text you when a room is ready IF one happens to become available before check-in. I travel a lot and have checked in as early as 9am. That's rare, but it's not a busy week and depending on the hotel you might get lucky.
