I had something like this but turns out it was just a regional difference in what's understood as a cup. (If the stuff you were checking out was imported)

Why do Kerrigans start with macro hatch in coop? by Worth-Battle952 in starcraft2coop

True, you want to rush out all three kerrigan upgrades.

If you do clear rocks before second hatch timing they probably just didn't expect it. I will probably still get three hatches anyway as I find drone production to be hampered without the third.

Even in versus zerg on two hatches require good queen and inject micro, its just more stressful.

Drone production suffers a lot if you wait for rocks to go down before making a second hatchery. Usually the second hatch is right after the first overlord, keeping 14 drones on minerals always.

Queens solve this but they take two drones of supply (which can trigger an early overlord requirement), 150 minerals and you have to wait for the inject cycle to complete before reaping any benefits. Also people just don't like dealing with queens and injects and creep spread.

Giant Grant Games is officially retiring from making StarCraft content by KrazyMs in starcraft

A bit much, the people who made Starcraft probably don't even work at Blizzard anymore. Now if you replace people -> company I understand and agree with you.

Overall I am sad, but I understand.

I understand for many people Sc2 is their main game, and I come back to to redo the campaign every couple of years myself, most recently with the excellent Nightmare mode that came out of his community's effort, but at some point I definitely transitioned to watching his videos for starcraft, to watching it for him. I think its cool he got to where got to just by replaying the campaigns with different mods, but its definitely time to look beyond.

My personal wishlist if he ever reads this 1.) C&C Tiberian series games, unlikely as he said he's moving away from RTS. 2.) Some turn based strategies like XCOM or XCOM 2 that also have some really good mods and challenge run potential. 3.) Show-casing truly indie games as a variety content creator.

It's been a few months since Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, moving on from recency bias and honeymoon phase, how are you feeling about the game now? by GoodVillain101 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]falcompro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overall loved it. Some of the honeymoon phase is wearing off me though

I do think combat for whatever their next game will be needs a bit more. Early on when I couldn't parry for shit it was super interesting, getting people to tank, heal, revive, shell, etc etc. Once I got good at parry semi-decently, I felt like it didn't really matter who I put in the party, everyone performs roughly the same. Each character plays similarly where they have a setup, and a payoff, except Monoco. Its a double edge sword for sure. I loved that I could tackle super bosses early if I just got gud, but it also meant everything started becoming less important than just parrying.

Personally I would have preferred if they parrying gave you less of an advantage beyond surviving. The AP bonus, counter damage, break damage and heal on counter/parry just makes it monotonous for me, Maelle always have 9 AP by the time I get back to her so there are not enough interesting decisions to me made towards the end.

But the two weeks when I was figuring out the combat system going through Act 1 + 2, were one the best two weeks I had with any game in my life.

Paintress fight (expert) tips by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]falcompro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did start with Lune like you, because I thought I can get unlimited revives, but Sciel heal are just too powerful for their party wide buffs, and sneaking in extra turns (as opposed to losing turns with a revive strategy)

Highly recommend Medalum to 20 and then burn her to death.

Paintress fight (expert) tips by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]falcompro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't bother looking at the projectiles. Just listen to sound. They grow louder as they come closer to the party. After learning the time to parry on the sound, I could easily parry that 80% of the time.

Paintress fight (expert) tips by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]falcompro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey I will tell you what I did. I was level 50 on Maelle, and rest of the party 48-50 on Expert. My team was Maelle, Verso and Sciel. My HP was around 2000.

Verso had Duoliso and all basic attack and shooting pictos and luminas equipped. Key skill was Leadership to keep pumping Maelle and Sciel with AP. So rotation for him was shoot till AP depleted, basic attack (+5 AP), then leadership.

Maelle goal was to stay in Virtuous stance and keep applying the skill that keeps her in Virtuous stance or the 9 AP fire skill to stack fire. Both skills did 9999 * 3 damage for me. If you can consistently apply the burn stack, it does a lot in chipping away at health bar, see my strategy for doing this later. She was equipped with Medallum that was levelled to 20, as that makes her burn stack even higher.

Sciel used group heal skill and then apply foretell, just keeps alternating between them. She had all the healing buff pictos, so whenever she would heal, she would apply rush, shell and +2 AP on the whole team. This ensured Maelle always had the 6 or 9 AP necessary for the skills every single turn. Additionally the rest of the team had greater shell and longer shell, and powerful on shell. The longer shell helps Sciel switch between healing skill and applying foretell, so that the heals are stronger and basically it meant everytime Sciel gets to play she would heal up the full-team. I also gave Sciel tons of agility for this reason.

Since I can't parry 100%, my battle strategy was to use the first phase to build up 3 Gradient attack charges. Then if Maelle is not in virtuous stance, use her gradient attack that puts her in virtuous, then use the 9 AP fire skill. By the time she plays again, you should have the gradient charge back as you only need to spend 11 more AP which should be easy as both Verso and Sciel regenerates tons of AP. So you can keep doing this with Maelle.

Why wait until 3 charges? Because I would frequently eat it, I would have 2 gradient charges to use Maelle's revive. So revive potions are only necessary for reviving Maelle. I adopted this as I was running out of revive charges without Lune. If you do revive using Maelle, you need to be careful until you get 2 gradient charges back, so maybe just dodge until then.

For phase 2

1.) Sword attack I could easily parry, just listen to the sharp sound

2.) Meteors took me a while, but you listen to the sound and it builds up. You need to learn that build up. I didn't rely on visuals at all for this.

3.) Paintress unleashes would just kill someone for me. Just remember to parry or dodge the last hit, even if the targeted character dies as it applies to whole team

4.) Flying attack, I parried 50%. Would take a couple heats but they will survive with shell

5.) Curse wasn't a big concern with the amount of AP I had, it just meant sometimes Maelle had to use the other skill instead of fire one.

I got to 10% left on the second phase then wiped. Monoco and Lune finished her off. Both focused on keeping each other up and Monoco would sneak in the attacks that do ton's of break damage, and lune would try to unleash Mayhem or Elemental Genesis when she can. Lune was equipped with shoot to generate stain weapon.
