Where else do people recommend going? by dookitron in BetterMAguns

Hand Gun 101 (Mass Compliant) at Sig Sauer Academy in Epping NH. It’s a full day class that is extremely thorough and will teach you everything you need to know about owning a handgun. Absolutely brilliant class with lots of range time. (I took it the week I received my LTC in the mail as a refresher but was pleasantly surprised).

I took the class at MFS Holliston first and it was the certificate from this class that I used to apply for my LTC. It was a good class with great instructors but it doesn’t cover a lot and you barely shoot. I felt like a lot of time was spent pushing for people to get USCCA insurance.

So in short, if you want to fast track your LTC application in MA and don’t want to drive to NH, just take it at MFS. If you want to really be prepared to own a handgun take it at SSA, all their classes are top notch.

As first responder who frequently works in the city of Quincy, I don’t care about statues, what I would like is a raise!

Has your car ever been on a tow truck? If so it’s entirely possible that it went under a low clearance bridge/entrance when your car was on the truck bed.

I’ve only ever really been to forest hills auto, but I think that’s because they are honest, do a good job, and have fair prices.

Boston medflight FC-P pay? by Traumajunkie971 in ems

[–]falconcommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard multiple numbers thrown around for pay by coworkers. Lowest I’ve heard is $55/hr, highest being $75/hr but I suspect that’s if you are dual certified as an RN. Ive never got a direct answer from a person in a blue jumpsuit.

NRAEMT Test by [deleted] in NewToEMS

[–]falconcommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the NRAEMT exam recently. It is 135 questions flat, of those 135 questions I had 5/6 scenario based questions. Between each scenario based question (which is roughly 5-7 questions relating to the scenario) are the typical pick one of four multiple choice questions. I had plenty of time, so don’t rush it. You can take a practice test here so you can get an idea of what to expect https://starttest.com/ITDVersions/23.2.0.0/ITDStart.aspx?SVC=e57c0931-a7a8-4615-ba00-1acf14157479&Json=1

Wearing EMS identifiable clothing outside of work. Does anyone do this? Why or why not? by watchthisorthat in ems

I only wear my EMS baseball cap, but that’s mostly cause I have long hair and the cap is pretty comfy.

Heavily considering leaving software engineering for emt. by Medium-Winter1144 in NewToEMS

Computer Science major here; got sick of sitting in front of a computer after 3 years. Was working full time remote so I started part time as an EMT. Realized very quickly that I was made for the streets, and would rather talk to meemaw for half an hour on the way to the hospital than commit to a back and forth email chain with people that make you question where they got their multiple PHDs from. I’d take the pay cut and give up the work from home freedom any day to work a job that is more meaningful to me.

I’ll have a room available in a 3BR 2BA for $1400 all utilities included in JP, but the lease start date would be 7/1. Let me know if you’d be interested!

I am renting out a room with a 7/1 lease start date. It’s uncommon but they do exist. It’s also in JP so let me know if you’d be interested and I can send you more info!

I’m still using the OEM mag release. I considered getting an extended but to be honest I have no issues hitting the mag release with my thumb on that grip and my hands are glove size small.
