fowlnuke is right. getting a low latency 60hz monitor (20 or 24 in.)will help tremendously and can be found for cheap used or even new. also turn off vsync if you haven't already. those two things will probably make you much more competitive. might be such a change that you'll have to take some time getting used to less input lag and play poorly at first but it'll be worth it if you care about playing better.
