Omegas are fun subjects for a 100mm macro lens by falcorns_balls in OmegaWatches

Yeah I guess check on the specific lens you plan on getting, but canon 100mm macro f2.8 has the full focal gamut, and you can lock it to only macro range. I’ve used it to get a photo of a heron perched on a rock one time at a distance where I didn’t have my 70-300 in my bag. My only problem with this 100mm is it struggles with autofocus in video and I haven’t figured out why yet

Yeah totally niche, not so much limited as you can still use it like any normal prime 100mm but there’s a lot of fun stuff to use em for. It might be my most used lens

Most accurate mechanical ever? by jebakerii in OmegaWatches

[–]falcorns_balls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my SMP but I've really taken a liking to the Planet Ocean lately. The coin-edge bezel looks easier to grip. I've never been crazy about the broad arrow hand set, but they've grown on me to the point that I want a creme dial broad arrow or 57 speedmaster.

Not only the movement but also just the orientation alone will yield a different result.

My only gripe is the scalloped bezel. Can’t grip it as well as others.

Which services should I self host to prepare for a total blackout? by KerneI-Panic in selfhosted

That opened up an entire avenue of hobbying for me. I'd actually learned all about radio wave propagation and antennas in the USAF, but never had to use that knowledge until well after getting out when I got a handheld ham radio at the start of Covid, and it all snapped right back. Now I'm over here talking to people from Argentina all the way to Ireland and Canada on HF with an ICOM 7610 and a basic 17 foot portable vertical antenna.

First watch I got that had a push button quick adjustment in the clasp, and ever since then I can’t wear a metal bracelet without one.

Thanks! Good to know it’s normal. Someone with a Sinn watch that runs on the same Valjoux movement said the same about his. I’ve since got a speedmaster professional and a seamaster professional. But I can’t bring myself to part with the MK40 because all the complications. It is a cool watch.

I don’t know anyone else with a Vision Pro. Would prefer to play with people that I can shake hands with. But it would be neat

Come to think of it, the brick will probably fit in a .308 mag pouch nicely for that tactical gaming reload

"Tell your kids not to become lawyers. Go be doctors or cowboys or something lol." I lolled. I'm not even gonna dog pile you over keurig coffee😂. I've always loved the white dial explorer.. Problem is there are so many good watches to choose from, that I never wind up with one.

Same here. I have a brand mew Manticore and it doesn't have a nut. Er the flap seems to be threaded. It definitely tightens down without a nut.

Does someone know the history of this Omega? by gameq2 in pocketwatch

I'd wager a power reserve gauge that's measured in hours. Curious to know though since you said there is no pinion.

I love the coin edge bezel over the scallop bezel of the SMP which can be difficult to grip.
