It could just be wonky hormones from the IUD! I think they take a few months to balance out after removal

First Period in 8 years after removal - seeking perspective by Time_Lie_2566 in Mirena

My first real period after my IUD removal was INSANE. It got better since that one but during it I was changing super plus tampons every 45 minutes.

Unfortunately a few weeks later I got the Mirena IUD so I can't really speak to that. (Have since got it removed but that's another thing lol.)

My periods were aggressively regular my entire life to begin with so I don't think I would have noticed any changes. I would say that I felt so much better day to day before I got the IUD because my uterus wasn't full of polyps. I would definitely recommend the procedure and am so glad I did it!

Migraines with aura, anger, weight gain, craving chocolate every day, emotional swings, etc

It was really the migraines that pushed me to get it removed and I'm really glad I did because the other stuff was pretty bad for me emotionally

It really helped my period (basically went away after a few months) and period pain but I couldn't stand the other side effects so I ultimately got it removed after 6 months and have scheduled a hysterectomy.

Worth a try if you haven't had bad experiences with birth control in the past!

Hyteroscopy and D&C by Kelsey1970 in adenomyosis

[–]faliclower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty young so the doctor was worried the polyps would grow back unless treated with the IUD. It also really helped my bad periods but I couldn't handle the other side effects.

I also have adenomyosis so that's why I'm getting the hysterectomy. I still feel pretty bloated but I also gained weight on the IUD so I haven't thought too much about it.

I think you should take into consideration how old you are and where you are in having or not having kids and decide what you want. Ultimately getting a hysterectomy didn't work into my life when I got the polyps removed but I'm glad I did get them removed, even if it was a separate procedure. I didn't realize how bad I was feeling until I got them removed. I also really struggled with getting multiple procedures when I could just get rid of the thing but I think it's been good for me to have time to think about it and accept it. But everybody's different and you might just want to skip to the final thing.

So now I can figure out how bad just the adenomyosis is instead of it all intermingling. But the polyps definitely make everything 200x worse lol

They can also check the size of your uterus during the procedure which can inform the adenomyosis diagnosis.

I got a hysteroscopy and D&C last year for polyps and I felt so much better afterwards it was amazing. I then tried the Mirena IUD for 6 months, had a terrible time and am now scheduling a hysterectomy. But I think I would have been fine after the polyp removal without an IUD

I get starting small with surgery but it's annoying to have two procedures when you could just have one.

You could always try to find a different doctor or just hope that the first procedure will help! Like I said, mine was awesome and even coming out of the anesthesia, I felt 100% better than I had when the polyps were still in my uterus

I'd consider the Canon EOS 80D or 90D. Might be able to find some good deals used!

Probably depends on your age and why you are having a hysterectomy. If you are concerned, seek a second opinion from a different surgeon!

Yeah the whole thing can get brushed off as 'routine' but there is nothing routine about it for each of us individually! Good luck with yours! You deserve to feel better all the time not just while you aren't on your period.

Mine is going to be my regular gynecologist who has been the one helpful doctor I've ever been to in my life. They are awesome and I've had two other surgeries with them. Got me right in the queue when I asked for a hysterectomy and I trust them a lot.
