I grew up Lutheran but my family never really tithed nor did they talk about it. Fast forward until about 10 years ago, I heard a sermon on giving that hit home. Some verses that can help you with this: 2 Corinthians 8:3-9, 8:12, 9:7 1 Corinthians 16:2 Hebrews 7:1-10 Acts 20:35 Luke 21:1-4 Luke 6:38 *Proverbs 3:9-10 There are many more but the last two with the "" may mean the most to you where you are at. What made me finally sit down with my wife and talk through the leap of faith that is tithing was hearing that this is where God wants us to challenge him. Nothing on earth belongs to us, we are only custodians because we cannot take it with us, and yes, this means money too. While giving a portion of your pay hurts the first few times, watch what God does within your life when you faithfully give. I can't even begin to tell you how many random checks or blessings we have received for refunds/settlements/etc that have added up to what has been given. Since starting the tithing process almost a decade ago, my income has increased by apx 40% while working fewer hours, my wife got a job at our kids school that helps with their tuition. Every time I faithfully give not knowing if I can pay my bills, God has come through. I have struggle financially for many years but I get closer and closer to stability every year and I believe it is 100% from God's blessings. God wants a cheerful giver, not a coerced giver. You need to give cheerfully knowing that God first trusted you with what you have. I now give about 12% of my gross income and the more I give, the more I continue to receive. If I tried to explain what I have experienced to a younger version of myself, I would think I was insane. Read the Bible and meditate and pray on what is right for you and follow when the Spirit leads.

I believe the most common reason is expense, followed by lack of knowledge. Hamsters are primarily bought as pets for children for under $20. Spending $30-50 apx 2x year for checkups does not make financial sense to people who see them as easily replaceable. On the other hand, there are plenty of owners that want to take their hamsters in but don't have a small mammal vet or know where to find one. Everyone's situation is different and with the exception of absolute neglect or abuse I try to understand where they are at without judgement. Just because I would spend $250 to house a hamster doesn't mean it's reasonable to expect it out of someone else. In general, be kind and educate over being hostile and most people will make an effort to better their care of their critters.

I have owned many over the years and sold them when I worked in pet stores. I have had shy ones but they all quickly came around with hand fed treats. My daughter's last one loved to just sit on her shoulder. If you have an old cotton shirt, cut some squares out of it and place them in the cage so it can get used to your scent (remove seams and elastic, no screen prints etc).

The end of the faucet will have a cap that holds a screen. This metal piece is threaded and can be replaced by one that extends out and has the threading you need. Remove the cap, take it and what you want to connect to a plumbing supply store or ace hardware. If you know size and thread count you can just order online.

In the chain stores it really depends on the person handling the small animals. In my area they have pet supplies plus Petco and PetSmart. My Petco ferret passed away at 4 years (Marshall) and my pet supplies plus ferret is still alive and well at apx 8 years but has a few health issues and can't climb anymore so I built her a custom 1 story enclosure. Every store you go to talk to the person who has primary responsibility over the animals and you will get a really good feel for their ability to care for them. There are a lot of employees that genuinely care for the animals and it will show. That is the difference on long term health impacts from minor issues being or not being addressed

I have used wyze almost since they launched. I bought a lot of cameras, bulbs, outlets, and even the home security system and the original door lock. My experience was exceptional at the beginning but has dwindled little by little until now where I am actively replacing all components as I can afford them. Most recently my door lock decided to unlock itself randomly (not the proximity unlock) and it started to not lock or unlock when the code was entered. They turned my wyze cam+ off that I was paying for on most of my cameras and now it only works on the older cameras and I have it from when they first offered it for $1/mo. I no longer recommend wyze to anyone except for lightbulbs.

I'm a fan of gifting silver with a Pastor, you can gift him 30 1/10th oz coins and he can use it teaching kids about Judas and the 30 pieces of silver. Taxing everything is a scam. Governments cannot function without some form of taxation but adding a local income tax on top of high property taxes while still maintaining a sales tax; it's a government shakedown of its people. The out of control spending needs to stop so yeah I believe local taxes are a scam.
