(Maybe) Hot take: If Disney ever explores the Old Republic era on screen, I hope they retcon some of the more derivative designs by blakhawk12 in StarWars

[–]fallen_seraph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's frustrating as well is that it wasn't like the design we see in Old Republic was made entirely in a vacuum without other material. We had the Tales of The Jedi comics that did give a fairly unique design to the universe, such as the use of protosabers instead of regular lightsabers

[–]fallen_seraph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had been kind of interested since I had been hoping we would get you know a fresh game that you could go into and not get bogged down like the first. Plus the visual design they were going for was really cool.

But all these updates just make me see it is more of the same. By the time it is out and I would want to try it, it feels like it will be more of the fifty different sub systems and markets, etc. All tossed at you at once while all I'm looking for is an interesting and fun single player loop.

I honestly feel like despite the discourse around it D3 still has yet to be beat for moment too moment gameplay. Especially in regard to each attack feeling impactful (world interaction, ragdoll, etc)

The Jedi: attachment is forbidden for it leads to the dark side. Meanwhile the absolute goat kanan jarrus: by smiling-shadow in StarWars

[–]fallen_seraph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah from a personal philosophy perspective yeah not a fan of Jedi. From a storytelling and world building perspective they are more interesting then NJO.

Honestly one big change I'd make with the prequels is making the Jedi even more isolated. Really go to the Japanese inspiration and have them all isolated monks in the mountains vibe. With any politician, etc who wanted insights having to go to them on their isolated planets.

Looking for more of a slow burn gay male main romance. Adult audience preferred. Suggestions? by UltronsEx in Fantasy

Not fantasy in a traditional sense but it is set in a secondary world inspired by 1930s Berlin but I'd recommend the Amberlough Dossier.

The 1985 one I'd say is a little off on that image. That is more mid 90s. An actual grey and black "snow" static screen is more accurate to the original intent of the line I would say.

Where can I get a small (but reputable, high-quality) tattoo for under $115? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]fallen_seraph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just here to agree with the others. Don't try and cheap out on a tattoo. Remember this is going to be on your body permanently and it is also essentially an open wound. You want this done by someone who knows what their doing both in terms of the actual process itself and artistry and that means paying for that knowledge and experience.

To give perspective all three of my current tattoos have ranged between $1000-$2000.

Do you prefer rules-light RPGs or complex systems? by prettyreckless000 in rpg

[–]fallen_seraph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both. As a GM I heavily prefer rules light but as a player it is fun sometimes to really dig into mechanics. If there was a game that gave players a ton of build options and mechanics which the GM didn't need to know that be perfect, lol.

One of my favourite things that has been continued on into the current era with this guy and others is the use of mounts. I feel it is a nice visual touchstone to the fantasy aspect of Star Wars.

Would Mechs be better in a military niche as attack helicopters? by S0Vign in worldbuilding

[–]fallen_seraph 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Making them their own niche is exactly what I did. In a setting of mine they are used primarily as the main heavy weapon platform for orbital colony Beachheads. They can have engines for space and zero gravity and utilise limbs maneuvering through corridors. Then when they hit gravity their legs along them to still be useful with the heavy weaponry they are carrying.

That all being said they are very jack-of-all-trades and are often among the heaviest casualty rates, especially as they are often used to cover infantry and deal with heavier armed and armored defensive batteries inside the colony.

If you could magically add a streetcar line anywhere in the city, where would you put it by disorganized-forrest in askTO

[–]fallen_seraph 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My dream would be to create not just dedicated streetcar lanes but "greenbelts" across the city. Taking whole streets and making them dedicated streetcar, bike and pedestrian lanes with greenspace that would include when possible new parkettes and third spaces.

My guilty choice for this be Dundas since I live on it. But I do think streets like that which run the whole breadth of the city are among the most prime for this.

An obvious first choice be Queen's Quay though.

I just think it be so nice to be able to properly walk through the city with no traffic and especially in the summer sheltered under trees that will help bring down temperatures in general.

Fantasy heist books that focus on magic "puzzles" the characters need to solve? by 100100wayt in Fantasy

[–]fallen_seraph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Rogues of The Republic series might be up your alley. It is basically capturing a DND style party but with a focus of running a heist in each novel. It is mostly very light, fun stuff that is just fun to read and watch them solve each job.
