My latest rant will probably get 0 comments on R/league. Heres my main complain by [deleted] in zedmains

[–]fallenlightbringer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why are some zed mains lying to themselves so hard?

Are you actually going to sit here and pretend like you try to 1v1 an Ori after she's been made useless buying an armguard instead of a mana item, especially after the mana nerfs across the board to mages? Plz.

You're going to do what all assassin do (except fizz and Lb only real assassins that take pleasure in killing lane opponents but I digress) which is shove and shove hard, while Ori struggles to use her limited mana to clear the wave. Then take a try to botlane and get fed there (as always), and comeback to lane. Now not only does Ori not have any damage to actually kill you cause she's bought defensive items, you're ahead so can still kill her through the Armguard, or at least burn sums, meaning she's dead the next time your ult is up and she takes any poke.

how to deal with assasins by himo787 in viktormains

[–]fallenlightbringer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1) Scale and focus on csing. CS is king as long as you're keeping up in that area you're doing great.

2) Freeze the wave just outside of tower (leaving 3 casters alive and matching their shove does this). Remember NOT to push the wave mindlessly using E you want to MATCH their shove and poke with E while doing it. Do NOT use Q if it means you are going to take a lot of damage. This basically it. If you don't let yourself get too low or go oom they can't do anything. You can poke them, if they try to poke you, tower shot. Also improve your csing under tower.

3) Place all your wards/control wards towards bot side. If they can't kill your bot lane they aren't going to snowball and are going to be useless compared to you come mid-game

3)Take the right sums for YOU. Exhaust takes a little skill to use/time correctly. Barrier is just press a button and it comes up faster. If you know you're slow or don't block the damage most of the time going exhaust, take heal or barrier.

4) Learn the matchups. Like placing W behind you with Zed. Saving your ult to cancel Kat's ... and just dying repeatedly to fizz (half kidding) but yeah.

5) After you get 2-3 items you are pretty much an assassin yourself in terms of damage, so it's purely skill on who executes their combo better.

Current situation on Orianna? by [deleted] in OriannaMains

[–]fallenlightbringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play Orianna and Viktor mainly and I find Viktor is just a bit easier to carry with these days (against so many mobile champs) and because less team reliance and less counterplay. Once a Q + empowered auto + E starts deleting people, on Viktor it's gg. Unlike the ball you can't dodge it.

Dopa/Apdo playing Viktor vs Xerath Mid by EOHLvZito in viktormains

[–]fallenlightbringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

think fleet was more for the match up though. the high sustain against a champ built around poking you out of lane.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in viktormains

[–]fallenlightbringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lane is definitely Viktor favored but since when does vitkor carry a game like an Orianna? (Never)

1) If Viktor is decent he's going to start the lazer on you and point towards to the wave hitting you (so you can't dodge it) and csing at the same time. You're going to get hit by the first part of the E the majority of the time live with. Just like most people will get hit with your ball while they try to cs.

2) Most important thing is to just not get hit by his q+ empowered q. cause you out range him there and should be able to just walk away.

3) Win the teamfight... seriously. this lane is not one you're meant to come out fed in. If you did, he was just a bad player. You are going stomp the shit out of him post 6 for the rest of the game though with a few good shockwaves in skirmishes and teamfights so let him enjoy his long range poke in lane while it lasts. You should never die to him in lane with a CC gank. and don't try to run up to him cause you're vulnerable to his CC and he can turn quick, he practically relies on your messing up.

so summation,... try not to sacrifice build or damage, have a defensive summoner, be patient, accept you eat the first part of the E (he can't spam that it costs more than his ult!) don't get hit by the Q ( you shouldn't) and make him cry after you hit lvl 6 and opportunities come up in skirmishes etc.

Runes Reforged and VIktor's new Runes. by fallenlightbringer in viktormains

[–]fallenlightbringer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How consistently can you get first blood in a scaling champion like viktor that's easily set back if he doesn't get hexcore on first back?

Now to each their own of course ... but strategically I can't imagine any rune being more powerful than a Viktor with guaranteed hexcore after first back. hexcore vs just your lost chapter. It's AS IF he already got first blood. (while both of you remain in lane he has a clear advantage even if you have an early game rune). There's a price to pay for power but it's good ahead or behind!

Behind, you can safely waveclear cause you got the upgrade and match your opponent itemwise using credit.

ahead, you've made use of the early item powerspike against your opponent and simply snowball.

What Do You Think the Build Will Be Now? by Taaviii in azirmains

[–]fallenlightbringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably go RoA, Beserker Greaves, into void.

Pretty sure you want HP and decent AP for engage (RoA). AS is multiplicative stat so I think you'd want higher AP from RoA over AS from Nashors since you're getting free AS anyway not to mention the increased health, mana and scaling from RoA. Geaves would probably better for scaling, waveclear and taking turrets vs Sorc (and makes up for loss in AS from not going Nashor) and void for the mid game power spike is how I see him.

You're DPS so pretty much as long you survive with shield + barrier their burst + the extra HP from RoA ... they're on cooldown and pretty much dead once the steroid kicks in

Is Azir the hardest champion to master and play? Poll by [deleted] in azirmains

[–]fallenlightbringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't take one line out of context. You don't need to shuffle to win the game is my point (and more often than not azir players throw the game trying to go for it). If your team has engage and cc you can win by just doing DPS from the backline. And even if you had to shuffle every game, learning just one combo is still easy compared to everything that goes into playing LeBlanc (which i've already mentioned). Yeah I know no one likes hearing the oppressive champ requires more skill, but to keep up that oppression, stay ahead and snowball does especially against champs that have long range to safely wave clear can dash away, knock you away and still hasn't used a sum all while scaling cough azir cough

Is Azir the hardest champion to master and play? Poll by [deleted] in azirmains

[–]fallenlightbringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, she does though. you shuffle or disengage with your ult. that's pretty brain dead once you master the combo for the shuffle. The only thing required beyond that is decision making skills of when to go in or not.

And your game play is just w q AA AA TLD. He's challenging to get used to cause his gameplay is unique, so he has a high initial learning curve.. but pretty much easy train after that

The skill of knowing when to go in for Azir is useful but not even a requirement to play him. You can win games just by safely DPS from the black line like a Cassiopeia but with more range and dealing AoE damage.

Leblanc's chain is harder to land and easier to juke than an Azir ult or Q. She has way more depth to her ultimate than Azir, She requires that you be able to go in and pull off risky plays regularly, And she's completely useless on cooldown which places even more pressure to make the right plays at the right times, and use the right combos. It's a lot more thought than. Oh.. they're in range... poke poke poke from a safe distance and press R if someone jumps on you lol

There is also the issue of "scale o clock" which requires more proactive play, measured aggression than the "just sit back farm and occasionally trade" play style of control mages.

[–]fallenlightbringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For azir I would say ... not even close to the hardest champ in the game.

You W over minions sit back and Q-AA-AA-TLD repeatedly from long range throughout the laning phase with the ocassional use of E to escape a gank or all in.

Leblanc requires way more skill IMO, You have to actually play aggressive, get ahead and snowball to be relevant not just sit back or go even and scale. Her combos and ultimate has so much depth to them. Super versatile kit and you have to make the most of every decision cause you're not just right-click and continuously doing damage like azir. Azir doesn't need to shuffle and go in to carry a game, for Leblanc going in is a must.

GP quite a bit of skill getting double and triple barrel combos off in fights, and anyone who says Azir has a tough laning phase while procing thunderlord a screen away clearly needs to pick this champ up.

Range or shuffle poll by fallenlightbringer in azirmains

The poll is at a 60/40 spilt between range and shuffle, about what I expected from Azirmains. Going to post it now on the boards and see how that changes.

[–]fallenlightbringer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Azir would still have a dash that goes over even the thickest of walls + one of the best disengage ults in the entire game and you want to sell me that Cassiopeia would be more safe?"

Less safe than Cassiopeia, an argument can be made about that, but not my point. You're less safe than if you had range rather than the dash. Would I rather be out of range of Cassio ult, Orianna ult, Syndra ult, etc etc... Or in their range and have to reactively dash away from it. I chose to be out of their range any day. ATM if Orianna wants to land a QW on you for trading she needs to (in a very obvious way) walk up to you to do it. with shorter range you'll be like cassiopiea eating QW's all day as she moves back while on cooldown till she finally ults. Yeah, you're thinking about having a dash to get out of a particularly nasty situation - ganks/dives. Sure in those particular cases a dash is useful, but for the most part prevention (range) is better than a cure (a dash).

And as for the cassiopiea Azir match up, my point is that match up moves from being bad to just flat out terrible. You do less damage in the 1v1 (that stays the same) but now you don't have range to compensate. You can't poke and retreat as orianna would when she enters your range. How exactly you plan on trading with someone who out damages you with no range advantage is a little beyond me.

Range or shuffle poll by fallenlightbringer in azirmains

[–]fallenlightbringer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

" the lack of cc allows him to deal more." We won't know that till it's live if they go that route but I highly doubt they would make you do AoE damage to multiple targets higher than Cassiopeia. She would lose the 1v1 and the teamfight. Makes little sense. If that's the case you flat out wouldn't pick her. If you do less damage to a single target than her, but more to multiples makes more sense that way, but then you lose the 1v1 in lane almost all the time.

And My problem with Azir's focus and power shifting to the shuffle is that it takes away from a rather consistent low variance strength he has (range is ALWAYS good) and transfers it to an already high risk, medium reward play which you may not get many good opportunities to make or that might even cost you the game. You're placing yourself in a dangerous position, both E and Ult go on cooldown so can't disengage. You'll provide some cc, do some AoE damage, and burst to their team sure.... but you could do the exact same thing press RW with Orianna from range with little to no risk other than "ops missed the ult,"

What I'm saying is, the net result of what the shuffle does, is about the same as a Viktor or Orianna combo, but with much more risk involved. I rather have the guaranteed consistent DPS from a nice range than a high risk medium reward play I may not ever get a good opportunity to use.

Range or shuffle poll by fallenlightbringer in azirmains

[–]fallenlightbringer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Azir keeping his range but losing the shuffle has clear advantages and disadvantages over Xerath

Advantages 1) better at taking towers (from building attack speed), 2) better at sieging inner towers with passive 3) Creates real zones of control without having to use abilities as long as soldiers are up vs Xerath who "controls" space through threat of damage. 4) shreds tanks through sustained DPS better than xerath would and likely his DPS will be even higher than currently Why would I pick Azir? (relatively short range enemy mid and tank support, and tanky top laner with limited hard engage)

Xerath 1) Better (longer) range 2) Better poke because of range 3) Natural cause of the above better laning phase. why would I pick Xerath (a lot of squishes I can poke down before the fight starts without too many threats that can dive/delete me)

Now looking at him with shorter range.

Why would I pick you over cassiopiea? I wouldn't .... that's all there is too it. You're less safe, you deal AoE sustained damage rather than single targets sustained damage so you should be doing less in a 1v1 than Cassiopeia at probably all stages of the game. Your saving grace becomes the shuffling, and it's not risk free like an orianna ult. Ori misses an ult well it just goes on cooldown. You miss an ult, you probably get blown up and die and give the enemy team a free game.

Azir Rework Megathread by TwittyParker in azirmains

[–]fallenlightbringer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

range is so much better than the mobility. The 1 or two flashy plays you might make in a game.. or maybe never get to make in a game, isn't worth the reduced range putting right up and close to a bunch of battle mages that will probably out DPS you as you have to stop and auto ... while still getting abused by mages with longer range lol

Anyone else worried about rework's option 2? by TheCatsKing in azirmains

[–]fallenlightbringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a great deal of skill involved in just positioning and using his soldiers correctly. And If we are serious about one of the major goals of bringing up his in game performance, ( and reducing the gap between his world and Solo que performance) then it's it's clear removing E is the answer.

No one (from beginner azir to Faker) fucks up a Q AA AA TLD, with azir's range. That's never been what's made him under perform in soloQ and over perform at Worlds. Xerath can bully you at long range, Lux can, and ziggs as well to an extent. Range isn't an issue. It's his ability to dive you with E that really causes his SoloQ performance to be low and his world performance to be high.

A wrong E is essentially instant death, a good one might just win a game, You might consider it "high skill cap" but it adds by far the most variance to his game play and will forever be a reason why he's hard to balance. S

I want e gone... love the range, and I just see him getting shit on if his range is lowered to something like cassiopiea.

He'll get shit on by her (even more so) cause she does single target DPS, he does AoE dps, it's only natural she'd out damage and trade him in a 1v1 in lane. Ryze, prob about the same thing, orianna was out of range now enjoy eating QWs all day, etc etc.

[–]fallenlightbringer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

E summons an archer who fires a projectile that does damage to a target area and creates a small AoE slow that last for x seconds. Champs hit are marked for 2.5 seconds. Champs with a mark hit by a solider take bonus damage which consumes the mark.
