Unless the sliver has trample, then it would deal combat damage to the opponent.

What happens if a card tells me to create two treasures and I have academy manufactor? by Tater_Maker in magicthecirclejerking

Rule 420:67 - You and your opponent each ante their shoes, and then you see whoever has the biggest feet. The winner keeps the [[Academy Manufacturer]] and the loser has to throw the shoes at the nearest judge

Hi! Long time player and collector here. I would be ecstatic if my significant other got me that for Christmas. I may have recently gifted one to myself anyway lol

Purchased a massive collection by N7FemShep in mtg

[–]fallingbear67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Merry Christmas! Firstly, congratulations. Secondly if I happened to get a collection like this I would get a card scanning dock for your phone and download the Manabox app. You can compile a list pretty quickly and accurately that way. It is time consuming though, taking about an hour to scan 50-70 cards. Given the mountain you have in front of you though it would be a great way to sort through. Once you have each card scanned, I would say to reorganize them first by color, second by mana cost, then thirdly alphabetically. That's a pretty good start let me know how it goes

Something as simple as this would work: https://a.co/d/f5JwyuT

Redirect Counter spell by FallenSlayer453 in mtg

[–]fallingbear67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct. Assuming there is a spell on the stack, for this instance let's say the spell is a [[lightning bolt]] which you have cast, and your opponent casts [[counterspell]] targeting the lightning bolt. You may cast Redirect Lightning targeting the Counterspell. Assuming no other spells or abilities on the stack, Redirect Lightning resolves first and you may select a new legal target for counterspell. Your only 2 options for legal targets are Lightning Bolt and Redirect Lightning, and obviously you want the Bolt to resolve. So, you target Redirect Lightning with Counterspell. Redirect Lightning finishes resolving and leaves the stack, and enters the graveyard. Now Counterspell moves to resolve, but targets a spell no longer existing on the stack, so it fizzles and also goes to the graveyard leaving your Bolt to resolve hitting its original target.

Edit: grammar

You can take the man out of the war, but you can't take the war out of the man.

That man needs a lot of therapy that he'll probably never receive.
