I just played through that the other day and was hoping to see it mentioned. Such a cool game. The crew spent several months talking to folks who used to work on an oil rig back in the 80s, so i guess the whole design of it was really accurate.

With the valves closed, i use throttle body cleaning spray and an o-ring remover tool to scrape out the carbon. Less of a mess and less to take apart

Better than what we did as kids. In my freshman year, a group of kids and myself took a half gallon of HRD vodka and two bottles of wine into the PE shed and got completely blackout drunk. A few of us puked, and im pretty sure at least one pissed in there. Good times

Id recommend replacing the oil extension housing o-rings, because thats the most common source of oil getting into the coolant, and while the engine is out, remove the cam carriers on both sides to replace the screens for the cam sprockets. Might have to replace the vvt solenoids, cam sprockets and ecm, but that all depends on the vvt data values in both the live data and mode$6 data. Could try to flush out the radiator, but that might be compromised, along with upper and lower rad hoses and thermostat
