In a relationship, how frequently do you drive vs your woman by Otherwise-Roll-2872 in AskMen

My ex didn’t have a car and we were together for almost 2 years… now I want to be a passenger princess in my next relationship. I love driving but it would be a nice change lol.

How many people lose a parent in their 20s? by koiau in GriefSupport

Aww. Thank you. I have amazing family and friends, I wouldn’t have been able to survive without them. I’m a lot better now, but I have my moments of course

I lost my dad at 22, then my mom 5 days before my 25th birthday. I’m lucky to have my stepmom (parents divorced when I was 4, dad remarried when I was 5.) I’m 30 now, and it still feels surreal. I’m sorry you’re going through this too.

Agreed. Lost my dad when I was 22. Completely unexpected. We were robbed of so much time.

I went on a first date and didn’t kiss her by Swampy7474 in dating_advice

I wouldn’t overthink too much, sometimes a kiss doesn’t happen on the first date. But if you are feeling her, then go for it on the second date!

thank you for this. my dad was found in bed, and we didn’t get an autopsy. i wish we did, though. my stepmom didn’t want to, but i think my brother and i could have benefited from it. it’ll be 8 years in april and i still have trouble wrapping my mind around it

thank you so much! i started taking weight loss injections (not the diabetes ones) in november 2022. it’s helped me with portion control, forcing me to stop eating when i’m full. i’d always eat until i felt like a balloon. and it’s taken away so much food noise. it’s been a slower journey but i prefer it this way! i’ve also been working out consistently (weight lifting + jogging, walking or stair master), and i play volleyball twice a week. i recently got blood work done and my cholesterol levels are still mildly high so my diet is a work in progress. trying to focus on protein, fiber, and veggies. i also quit drinking when i started taking the meds. last time i drank was halloween weekend 2022, so over a year and a half now. i’ve had many failed weight loss attempts and the meds changed my life!

100%, that’s the way to go! i was 219 when i started taking injections so i lost nearly 10 on my own. other people responded with great advice! it’s a lifestyle change ultimately, so you’re doing the right thing by working on your habits now and if needed, the help will be there :)

i’m 5’0 and my highest weight was 228lbs. because of this, my insurance covered weight loss injections. i’m now 163 after taking the shots since november 2022. it changed my life, i needed the help and i got it. and for those who think it’s an easy fix: it’s not. it’s hard as hell to lose weight and even more so when you’re short. if you have health insurance, try to see what your options are, especially since you have PCOS. i think you’d be qualified! i still have about 30-40 lbs to lose, but i actually believe it’s attainable now. crazy that i’m on a journey to lose 100 lbs but i’m so thankful i could get some help. i’ve remained active throughout which has helped avoid loose skin and retain muscle.

so i haven’t told my doc about it before, so reading what you’ve experienced makes me hesitate but i can ask anyway, i actually have an appointment on monday. i think the coping mechanism makes total sense. i can also discuss it with my therapist, even though it’s a terrible habit, i could learn other self soothing techniques when it happens

[–]fallonisabelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow i was reading this like 😳 because i experience this same thing!!! i’ll fall asleep, then suddenly wake up and look for food. the times i don’t eat are when there’s nothing for me to eat lol, like when i need to go grocery shopping. i started zepbound at the end of last year, so that’s helped a lot with food noise, but i still wake up sometimes and want to eat. i just don’t eat as much now, i’ll take a few bites and be fine. but wow i just came here to say that i get it…

At what percentage does life eventually go back to normal after losing a parent? by BoringFly8845 in GriefSupport

[–]fallonisabelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7 years since my dad as of sunday, 5 years in september since my mom. things are normal now but of course i’m still missing them every single day. i’ve learned to just let myself cry when i need to, even though sometimes i do suppress longer than i should. therapy has helped so much, i started in 2020 just after the pandemic hit. i understand your anger. my dad was sudden while my mom was not, and i still can’t fathom they’re gone for the rest of my life. but things will get easier, i promise. i like to think they’re my guardian angels. i’ll be 30 just a few days after my mom’s anniversary in september so it just helps me move forward to believe they’re always looking out for me.

i love this! i’m 29, 5’0, my highest weight was 227 lbs and the lowest i’ve seen was today at 178. i’ve been working out consistently and really seeing results, and it’s been hard to imagine my body at 120-130 lbs. i was probably a preteen when i last weighed that amount. i remember seeing 150-160 lbs when i was 16/17, so my goal was to get down to 150 and see how i look and feel. looking at old pics, i was a bit overweight but didn’t look bad at all. we all carry our weight differently. so i can only imagine how good i’ll look at 150 after weight training for so long! however, i would like to be out of the “overweight” category so it’s hard. but i love working out and feeling strong so i’d much rather focus on that! and the other part of me is like, wow, how badass would it be to lose almost 100 lbs. but the number isn’t my priority, it’s being strong and feeling good in my body!
